Do you want to know why libertarians (small l) think that less government is better? This guy explains it better than I have seen elsewhere. Even better than I could!

In this essay, libertarians are referred to as classic liberals, which indeed we are. Non libertarians are referred to as "statists". Essentially, that is the case. Either we are free, or controlled. Liberal (classic or libertarian) or statist. That really is the spectrum.
