Porn Photographer

Doc_rob's Avatar
Hi, I took Photography at Trinity University several years ago because I was a frustrated artist. I switched to Photography as a hobby.

Now, I am thinking about getting into more porn type photography. The female body is one of God's creation of perfection. I want to display that perfection.

I have several Nikon cameras and can create some very provoctative photos.

Any tips regarding getting into this business would be appreciated.

Thanks Doc
Doc...As a professional currently in the business...let me say...DON"T do it..!!! As a hobby, photography is great, but as a profession, the margins are declining more and more each day.

Additionally, the move in the professional arena is more towards shooting "video stills" (ie. using a video camera like the Red Epic, pulling digital stills out of that session, sending them to print, and then forwarding the motion video for editing and subsequent distribution on the client's website or social media platforms).

Just our 2 cents.

I figured it might be tough. Digital is the way to go.

Doc_rob, good luck if you try to go "pro"!

I bought a lens from an Austin photographer a few months ago, he was getting out of the wedding photography business because he said many of his potential clients kept asking him to reduce his prices to the point very few wanted to pay enough for him to make a living at it anymore.

I've also read various posts on different photography forums and it seems most working photographers can't make a living at it anymore, digital cameras have gotten to the point that most people can take pretty decent pictures so don't want to hire/pay a photographer.
