its killing the country and the economy.

Ryan can fix that ...

his budget doesnt right the ship until 2040.

We'll all be dead by then.

Problem solved living with a deficit.

The economy will collapse long before we are all dead.

So If he came up with a plan that cut the government, in turn cutting spending, cutting entitlements to a manageable level without raising taxes you would be singing his praises?

Are you asking me, 2D? The answer is no, because we'd still have the income tax, and we'd still have the NDAA. We'd still have the Patriot Act. Also, you didn't define how much spending would be cut.

I'd have to see the plan first.

If you weren't asking me, never mind.

When you have over 51% of the people digging the hole and less than 10% of the people trying to fill the hole, it will take a long time to get the 51% to stop digging and start helping to fill the hole.
Even if you pulled everyone that is digging the hole out right now, it will still take a long time to fill the hole as deep as it has been dug.

Not you CoG, cbj7 was lambasting a plan that would eventually get us out of debt but he seemed to be complaining that his plan did not do enough fast enough. I was just making the query of what his opinion would be had it been more in line with what I questioned. As is typical, he deflected from the question and answered something that was not asked.

The only reason that the amount of money being spent has not increased is because the Obama administration has failed to get a budget passed. This cuases the government to function under a continuing resolution.
Obama has no plan to stop the speniding increases or to reduce the deficit much less get us out of debt that is anywhere near reasonable of feasible. His on party will not pass a budget that he has come up with because of this.

I see cbj7 as a person in panic because his "messiah" isnt all he was cracked up to be.
Not real sure what his panic is over the VP as Romney seems to be very healthy and based on the impatience of the sheeple he will more than likely be a one term President anyway.
All we have to do is return Federal, state and local tax rates to what they were in the 1980s and the whole problem will be solved.

Just get rid of all the Federal tax cuts that have happend since 1994 and the deficit will be solved.

To make this affordable to the public we have to slash local taxes to what they were in 1980.

It's what Reagan would do.

How about we cut all government back to an affordable amount AND cut taxes.
Including defense.

Good luck cutting the spending with the entitlement mindset that we have today, the 51% won't let that happen and the dems will be showing more commercials of grandma in a wheel chair being pushed off a cliff.

And why the mention of 1994? I assume you intended to refer to the tax cuts enacted during George W. Bush's first term, which didn't start until seven years later. Even if we rescinded all those tax cuts (not just the ones for high incomes, which represent only a small portion of the total), it wouldn't cover more than about 30% of the deficit.

And with regards to the idea of slashing local taxes, good luck with taking on the politicians who support public sector unions.
Slash the federal government; return powers back to the individual states.

Reign in the Commerce Clause that empowers the Federal Government to get involved in nearly every single corner of our lives. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
