Elvis passed away. I remember distinctly how I first learned about the shocking news - from the bold headlines at a newsstand as I was strolling in the streets of London.
Elvis was the man. Still remember where I was when i heard the news. The only other events I clearly remember where i was are when President Reagan was shot, John Lennon being shot, and the 911 attacks.
I still remember seeing him for the first time on the Ed Sullivan show in black and white on our "big" 21" TV. On September 9 that will be 56 years ago. Life is fleeting.

Elvis was GREAT when he started with his recordings at Sun Studios with Bill Black, Scotty Morrison and DJ Fontana in the 50's. His downfall was when he made movies and spent too much time playing with the leading ladies. Saw his last Buffalo concert in '76, and he was grossly out of shape, but Elvis still remains the King of Rock' N' Roll...with Little Richard placing.
