GBN

Seems like it's been down for a couple days... getting a 404 not found error... just wondering if anyone had any info on it.

Yeah, I noticed it was down and was wondering the same thing.

Has happened several times over the last year not sure what is going on.

Recently I received an e-mail request for a donation to their site. Maybe this time they weren't crying wolf! For this hobbyist, their site had extremely limited valuable info.

The GBN is a great community and covers the Central IL and Iowa areas very well- for people in IN they will find some info there as well. Site has had hosting issues on and off all year, but I don't know why. If you live or travel into the GBN's market, it is quite valuable as that geography is not really covered by any other board.

I have to agree with everything LemMotlow just said. The atmosphere there is great, plus I met my first provider through GBN....

The GBN was the first board I really got involved in. Prior to its formation I was on a few others and some yahoo clubs/groups but didn't participate much at all. I met my first provider through a yahoo club/group that was sorta a predecessor to the GBN and involved most of the "charter" members of that site. Hopefully the site gets back online soon.

Been about a week now- anybody heard anything?

First I heard it got hit by a hacker... then I heard that it was a matter of generating enough funds to keep the site going... I don't know which is true. I haven't been a member there for long but I still sure do miss that site

I have contact info for the admin at GBN I will see if I can get ahold of him and pass along an answer.
