What I learned on Summer Break
I learned from Lance Armstrong that its ok to lie and cheat your way to the top as long as you have a Foundation that gives to a worthy cause..
Thank you Lance for teaching kids its ok to be a cheat as long you give money to Cancer research or other charities
I'm not jumping on that band wagon just yet.
There's too many innocent people in jail, that confessed to being guilty, just due to the constant hammering by LE to "admit" and quit denying.
Lance may, or may not, be guilty, but it's absolutely true that there's a vendetta to "get him". He passed (it's reported) 500 tests cleanly, the French were just pissed that he managed to get over cancer and still win, so this whole "it's too good to be true" nonsense started.
After 12 years of being harangued, I could see why he would just say, "Ya know what? Just fuck it!"
He is not gonna be in the top tier anymore anyway, so winning isn't an option due to age. Everyone that is "supposedly" going to testify, has already been caught red handed, so they want to drag him with them. I say it is an unknown, but I understand where he "might" be coming from. I'm not saying he is innocent, but c'mon, 12 yrs of tests, clear. Sounds more like sour grapes on the part of the French and his enemies to me.
And as far as Austin goes.. Hell, we have a statue to honor a druggie in public (SRV), and a street named after a well know musician, (Willie), neither of which has done as much to help as Lance has with his cancer foundation.. I understand he's known to be an ass to a lot of people, and as the public always does, "Build em up so we can tear them down".

I think he cheated, I dont think 10 first hand witnesses are making this up,,
Innocent people NEVER give up,, Micheal Morton did not give up and he was convicted in Wilco..
it sickens me that just because he has a charity many are overlooking this..
Innocent people give up all the time. Morton didn't give up.. but still served 25 years .. That's fucked up, but I guarantee he was serving time with a lot of other innocent guys that didn't have the right connections to get them noticed.
I don't know that "overlooking" is gonna happen that much. There's cheating in all sports. Personally, I think sports are all a form of "warfare" / "warriors" competition. If the participants are willing to take the risk, hell, let em' load up. Be the biggest badass football, soccer, wrestler, boxer, baseball, whatever. They often ruin their bodies for the chance for glory. So be it. Doesn't effect me. Look at their paydays. Just drop all "doping" rules in professional sports and let blow out their veins, balls, whatever. That's why people stare at car wrecks. It was so obvious that Barry Bonds was not a "normal" human, but until it was the center of attention, no one cared, except about his records. He did it for the fame and payday.. his body, his right, I guess.. I have the choice NOT to do that, but I shouldn't decide for them.
Maybe two leagues, pros with drugs, pro's without drugs. I think more spectators would pay to see the former.

C'mon, seriously. Who gives a fuck about cycling? I didn't give a shit about the Tour de France before Lance, during Lance, or after Lance. Plus, I blame him and all his bandwagon jumpers for having to see overweight buffoons stuffed into cycling singlets and shorts all over town, pumping their toothpick legs on their overpriced racing bikes carting their apple-shaped bodies all over town, clogging traffic. The dumb asses would be better off sticking to the sidewalk on a beach cruiser in a t-shirt and shorts. A better workout for cheaper and not looking like wanna-be athletic poseurs.
Fuck Lance, fuck the followers of Lance, fuck the Tour de France. Hell, fuck the French. Especially the women. I dig chicks that don't shave their armpits.

USADA has no jurisdiction in this case, and yet, they are trying to, going to strip Mr. Armstrong of his titles..They have no physical evidence, except the over 500 blood an urine tests he PASSED. There "evidence" would very likely be considered hearsay in every other kind of American court. Not to mention comes from dirty sources, those that were caught red handed. In a time of needed fiscal responsibility within our local governments, and in Washington, why is this man, USADA CEO Travis Tygart, allowed to continue what is tantamount to a witch hunt, with OUR TAXPAYER FUNDS. The Federal case was dropped in February, until it can be proven, it should have been left at that.
Another point, if Mr. Armstrong was doping at a level he is accused of, his treatments for his personal cancer issues would have been affected. Possibly led to a different result.
I completely understand Mr. Armstrong, taking a stand for himself, family, and foundation, not wanting to put up with the crap anymore. If you read his statement closely, it's just shy of a hardy FUC* YOU! They can strip him of his titles, accomplishments, and bar him from competing, maybe even jail him. Still, it's only Mr. Armstrong who knows what he did and didn't do...If he can live with it, in the absence of any physical proof, this prosecution of his deeds and character should stop.
