Legendary lyricist Hal David of the Hal David/Burt Bacharach team died today. Is there any wonder that he served as the president of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers or served as the head of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Numerous Grammy awards with Burt Bacharach, Oscar winner, TONY award winner, Hollywood walk of fame, Library Congress Gershwin winner. What more could you ask for from a very talented person?
Thank you sir for making my life more than just a little more enjoyable with your fantastic music.

In the pecking order of lyricists, Hal David was a light weight.....his music was good but falls way short when compared to Mercer, Berlin, Dylan, Guthrie, Williams, and other great contributors to the American songbook...

That said, his (minor) contribution should not go unrecognized.

Just my opinion.
