La Perla at SE Military and Old Corpus Christi Hwy on the Southside is my Bar None favorite for great Jalisco.

You are also very near Fuddruckers which has good burgers.

But for the Best Burger in SA you need to go to Chris Madrid's.

Of course if you let me know where you're staying I'll have the best meal in town!

Thanks guys.

@Doglegg... I have pretty good menu myself. You should come have a taste!
What a showcase.... I hope you aren't eating alone.
I'm here with my tour buddy.

There's Mary Lou's a little further down McCullough Rd in Olmos Park. Excellent Tex-Mex. A little bit away from the airport but not too bad, just a mile or two from the Quary. Just watch your speed in Olmos Park if you go. The cops there fish for speeders. Food is just as good as the original on the Southside but in fancy new digs.

I clicked on this thinking it was a thread seeking DATY lovers LOL

Back on the actual food topic there was a place called Luke over by the riverwalk that was pretty damn good! Its not by the airport but a nice place to go if you get a dinner request.

I have yet to find any good Mexican or burger places that I would suggest here yet

Then Jules you really need to go to La Perla.

It is not Tex-Mex, it is Jalisco.

It is the difference between Fried Catfish and seafood.

Chris Madrids and Chesters are both good.
Very good, huge burgers at Bigz at 1604 and Rogers Ranch.
For more upscale try Il Sogno and Sandbar at the Pearl.
Good Mexican seafood at Ernesto's at Vance Jackson and Jackson Keller.
Great TexMex and some continental cuisine at Los Barrios at Blanco and Basse area.
Mexican interior food at Guajillos at 410 and Blanco.
