What I find most interesting is that when these pieces are performed side by side Springsteen is still head and shoulders above the rest. Carpenter us no slouch, but it really demonstrates more than depth of talent--and why one artist can command the audience he does, dominate a genre and sell millions of records. Otherwise, much too depressing of a selection for me. I'm just glad you didn't stick Adele in there.
