Points

What happens to infractions and points after you've been banned , served your sentence , and return ? Does that reset the count , and you return with a clean slate ?
Hmmm! Good question?
It is a great question.

If you accumulate 25 points you get an AUTOMATIC vacation for 90 days. It is my understanding that your count is re-set to 0 when you return.

If you are banned for some other reason so 1 day, 3 days, 7days, 14 days, etc, then your point count remains until they expire.

I hope this gives everyone a better picture of points and bans. Truth be told, we really don't really want to point or ban anyone. This site like any message board driven entity runs on membership and the more the merrier. Bans exist for when there is no other viable solution to chaos and anarchy.

So points are NEVER deducted for good behavior or intelligent/helpful posts (such as a public "excuse me") after an outbreak and point accumulation?
No, as adherence to the Posting Guidelines is expected because you agree to these guidelines each and every time that you log in. Why would there be a "reward" for behaving as you agree to behave as a member of this community? Point are issued only after guidelines have been violated and in many cases, violated more than one time (as we usually issue warnings before points for most infractions) Since membership here is free, the only expectation is that you adhere to the posting guidelines as agreed upon when signing on the site.

THX, and I will do my BEST (and I know ignorance is not an excuse)
This is confusing, my points didn't reset and I was told by your counterpart that they don't.

I think that most of our prolific posters in Austin can attest that both ztonk and myself will give lots and lots of warnings to stave off those final points that send someone on forced vacation. There is no great pleasure from a member getting a ban of any type. We would always rather have everyone here, contributing, but within the posting guidelines, of course.
