oil field in texas/ odessa?

hi i am originally from tx and my cousin just had a baby and wants to get into the oil field to make more money for his family he is wanting a job on a rig where they feed and house you so he doesn't have to relocate

i've heard such bad stories about going with the wrong company and wanted to see if anyone had any info on who do go with? i also know in north dakota they house and feed the guys when they are there do they do the same there? they have pipeline experience but not oil experience

The Eagle Ford is very active. It might be a better bet than Midland/Odessa. It's a nicer area too, close to San Antonio and the hill country.
