Annie Sprinkle's Facebook Status says it all
"There is such a horrible war on whores going on in USA right now. Have been in the sex worker rights world for almost 40 years. It's never been worse for whores, from what I'm gathering. Breaks my heart. I fear for so many good, loving, generous people who are simply following their callings, and choosing their jobs in sex/love. Yes there are all kinds of whores. LIke with any profession. And all kinds of situations. But we must decriminalize sex. Venting."
First porn I ever saw "Inside Annie Sprinkle" and do I ever love the squirters!
Yes,
she's a real cool chick and I am glad to be her friend. She is one of my mentors. She is very intelligent and also sexy as hell.
wow...talk about blast from the past! is she a provider?
she used to be. now she is a pleasure activist and a professor of sexuality and a performance artist based out of san fransisco.

Never saw her porn but I used to enjoy her photo appearances in The National Lampoon illustrating an article or as part of their Foto Funnies feature.
For the younger crowd, she was the first porn actress to squirt on film and glorify squirting as natural and beautiful and normal. she is my hero. I have pix of me and her and her gf in bed. Maybe I should use those as showcase pictures. LOL
I've been saying for almost ten years that we as a society could virtually eliminate the need for new taxes or tax increases if we legalize, license, and tax three things:
1. Prostitution. It's legal in many countries, and in about a dozen counties in Nevada. Time to expand on that.
2. Pot. Let the big multinational corporations produce it. We'll get a better quality product and huge tax revenues.
3. Poker. Since we know the government will never be able to stop home games, why not just make all kinds of poker legal, especially online poker.

There are many reasons to do all of the above, and few reasons not to, except those connected with pushing one's moral views onto another. Americans have shown that they're going to patronize the ladies of the evening, they're going to have their joints, and they're going to play poker. So let's stop pissing into the wind and start being smart.
Sue Nami... You say " It's never been worse for whores, from what I'm gathering."
What time frame are you thinking about?
Sex workers been around at least 5000 years. The phenomena "red light district" goes back 7000 years in ancient China.
Providers (and hobbyists) have more ways to do TCB now, then they ever have in the history of civilization. Thank you google voice too, ha.
In 2012, provider can use priceline name your price and snag a $38 hotel room. For $7 s/he can post various ads on BP or Eros and obviously utilize any number of online information exchanges to do what is the functional equivalent of "advertising" in ways that were unthinkable not that long ago... uh, before the internet. The various channels through which providers might reach hobbyists is greater (and less costly) now than it ever has been.
Even for those lucky few who fetch the very highest prices and are perpetually busy, oh 1 out of a 100 (?), providing is not easy, or risk-free and suspect it never has been nor ever will be, even if it were "legalized."
The internet has changed everything about providing and the hobby. I would argue that its gotten better, not worse for both providers and hobbyists but you did me me thinking. Thanks for that.
What is the horrible war about which you speak?
Annie is a fasinating lady.. I saw her Live In Person show here in Austin many years ago.. Outragous! and very very informative.

I'm in agreement with 19 Trees. I can't think of a time in history where it hasn't been easier for a woman to be a hooker, whore, provider, companion, escort, whatever you want to call it. Seems like a renaissance era to me. It's only a short matter of time before all three of the items listed by K9 above are legalized.
As long as your hijacking a thread, doesn't that term describe a wife? IJS..

Not really, but not just poker, tax every gambling transaction, say 1% (or less) and also especially all that gambling that is called "trading" and derivatives. We would be swimming in dough!
