Laundry: a poll for providers and hobbyists alike

ozmosys's Avatar
As I finish my laundry tonight, my question is:

Do you do your own laundry, or do you have it done?

Categories that come to mind:

1. I do most everything myself

2. Significant other does most everything

3. I have most everything done by a service

4. What the fuck do you care?

This is just a test, since I've never done a poll on CCIE. If it blows up horribly in my face, then maybe I will have learned a valuable lesson.

Or maybe I'm a masochist who loves to have things horribly blow up in my face. You decide.

Seriously?

If you were on the old boards, then act like it.

This should be posted in the Sandbox.

Love you brother. Your avatar is awesome. Just abide.

Ummm ... someone has to do the laundry after we jizz all over the sheets?

Yeah, a little lame in retrospect ... butt, the polling function works flawlessly here on CCIE
And meanwhile back at the ranch where Charlie is cleverly disguised as a doorknob...

This random thread will get moved b4 the day's end but since we're on the topic.

I have an unexpected OPEN Laundry Basket now available for any providers who would like to come over and wash and dry my clothes.
If you book within the next hour you get to do my bathrooms at no no extra charge. Like Everyone else I am offering a first time discount. These are getting nauseating huh?

There should be a forum just for Open Slots.
I don't want to hang out on some dirty, stained, or sticky sheets and I am all about layers. Mattress Pad, fitted sheet, flat sheet, duvet, flat sheet, synthetic fiber quilt, flat sheet. Flat sheet is replaced after every "use" and quilt & other flat sheet are changed daily unless the flat sheet gets soaked through (which happens sometimes). I'm lucky if I have 1 every other day though which is good because one load of is like 3 king sized sheets!

Now my hoclothes- that's a totally different story. I stopped spending money on nice stockings because you guys just rip them anyway but I did not stop spending money on lacy things and that stuff needs to be washed by hand. I WISH I could pay someone to do this for me it takes forever and the colors always run and stain my bathtub.

You know what they say though...

Luz, maybe you should offer a laundry day special. No sheets to wash, because the deed is done on top of the washing machine while it's on spin cycle. Good vibrations could be enhanced by slightly de-leveling the washing machine. Anyone ever tried this, or too complicated?

i hate laundry month!!!
I used to use a service when I had a bf that would come by and pick it up, pay for the service and then bring it all back nicely folded but now that he's gone it's easier just to wash everything myself.

I wouldn't mind using a service again if I didn't have to go through the hassle of dropping the dirty stuff off and then coming back to get it (and if it didn't cost a fortune).

Things like laundry, ironing, and sewing are things I do when there are sports on the tube. And since I've been accused of watching Australian rules football, yacht racing, Tiddly Winks, and everything in between, I have lots of time to do these things for myself.

I used to drop all my things off at this one laundromat place. They offered a service and washed, fold, iron and hang your clothes. I'd drop them of once a week on my way to work and pick them up after. It was nice just having to put them away.
