LEO in Tahoe

LEOS are using smooth top unmarked Tahoes to work RADAR. I saw a black one but they probably got other colors. A LEO told me the SAPD is switching to Chevy Tahoes bc Ford will no longer make the Crown Vic.

This is true. I'd also like to add that there is a HUGE radar-trap on IH-35 North and South bound lanes, from SBC Center Pkway through to Eisenhaur Rd.

There's about 10 SAPD Traffic officers working that little strip of real estate. From Tahoes, to Crown Victorias and evena few motorcycle cops. They're ALL shooting radar and working this area HARD, so watch your speed.

These are the ones with the white hats...the Traffic Patrol..and they seldom issue warnings...they instead, focus on the real deal; the expensive variety.

Be careful because a speeding ticket can cost as much as an hourly appointment...ijs

I travel that portion of i35 everyday, and they have at least 4-5 cars pulled over everytime i pass...all with unmarked tahoes. Another interesting car i saw yesterday while at balcones heights pd (i hate those traffic cams), while paying a ticket was an unmarked lexus is350 with police interceptor badge on the back. Not sure who owns it, but that car would get alot of people in trouble.
Blasian u can cuff me anytime ..lol..

ur naughty red head friend..
.....it was on local radio and TV stations the other night that they have given this little program to the officer that was hit while writing a ticket last year and has rehabed himself back onto the force. They are NOW beginning to enforce the little known state law about pulling over one lane and dropping your speed by 20MPH from the posted limit if you see a police car or other emergency vehicle parked along the side of the road and advertising...

and by the way ===> if you are behind a black stealth Tahoe with these on the rear window:

you are in the rear view mirrors of Chief Ronald McDonald....

At first after reading this I thought NO WAY!! A crown Vic has been around as police cars to long to change for good. I repeated it to my SO after reading this yesterday and he said same thing.
I can't imagine Ford giving up on making all that cash from the police. Police interceptor Will still be in production of the Ford Motor Company.
It's actually a cool new SUV for them.

Ford stopped selling the retail versions of the Crown Vic about 3 years back. 2008 models were only sold through their fleet departments, while the 2009-11 models were only available to police departments and cab companies. Ironically, due to DOT safety regulations, the last of the C.V.'s made in '11 (2012 models) were not allowed to be sold in the US.

Did they recently raise it to 20 mph below? I remembered reading somewhere when they first starting pushing this 'Slow down or Move Over' law, it was only 10 mph below.
from the KENS5 article BigBudha:

".....If the lane is blocked, drivers must drop their speed to 20 mph under the speed limit. Otherwise, they could receive a $200 ticket....."
