Possible GOOD Obama Idea

I don't want government expanded, and overall this is a bad idea. But, given the current climate, if this would actually take away duties from other departments and consolidate them, cutting down on costs, red tape and giving businesspeople one place to call with their complaints and concerns, it might be a good idea.

But if it is like other Obama promises, he's lying about it anyway. But don't say I'm against everything Obama says.

President Barack Obama signaled if he wins a second term he would appoint a Secretary of Business to oversee newly-consolidated government agencies, including the Small Business Administration, and predicted “a war” will break out within the Republican Party after the Nov. 6 election.

“We should have one Secretary of Business, instead of nine different departments that are dealing with things like giving loans to SBA or helping companies with exports,” Mr. Obama said in an interview that aired Monday on MSNBC. “There should be a one-stop shop.”

Mr. Obama blamed Congress for such consolidation not happening during his first term because lawmakers have been “very protective about not giving up their jurisdiction over various pieces of government.” But the president has done little to push the idea himself.

Agreed. They should consolidate all federal agencies interfering with business. . . and then eliminate the resulting agency.

I had hoped from reading the title that the thread was about ritual suicide, instead, it's about economic fratricide.

Just another layer of government so Obama can take over more and more and cost us more and more.
Not to worry, there are PLENTY of rich people to support the government FOREVER.......
