Prepay phone?

What is the best prepay phone to buy? Preferably one you don't have to do a song and dance to activate, something good to go just buy time

Tracfone you can't beat it!
I use a Tracfone also
A clerk at Walmart said can't activate TracFone unless you go online or use a secondary phone. Is this correct? Thought you could activate TracFone by itself.
I had no problem activating the tracfone right from the phone. If I remember correctly it asked me for a secondary phone number when I activated it but I just typed in a bogus number.

Yes, but if your gmail account is also your "hobby email", then you have no issues. Oh, and go through a proxy and life is good then.

Use your neighbor's phone, it works for me.
One other note - Tracfone will not work in Canada if that's important to you, otherwise it's great.

I am torn the same way. With all the hobby action in WNY I don't have need to go to Canada as much as in the past. However with all the price wars going on up north, Canada is looking very attractive again....lol
