RIP Carmen

For those fans of boxing we lost a great one. Hall of Fame Middleweight Boxer Carmen Basilio passed away at 85 years old. I met Carmen my senior year of high school (so many years ago)and did some training with him. He taught me so much and after a year of so-so bouts he convinced me I didn't have the heart for it. He was a true champion and known for being absolutely above board. I last saw him a couple years ago and he still had a handshake that would bring you to your knees. He will be missed...BD

I had the opportunity meet him years ago in Hornell...what a great guy! Good for you with the opportunity you had with him earlier in your life...cherish it! Peace...
