Who Does Obama Turn To For Advice About Fiscal Policy?

CuteOldGuy's Avatar
Of course he calls in economists, actuaries, and people who understand the relationship between government policy and its effect on the economy, right?

Well, here is who he met with last Friday on that very subject. Here they are:

This afternoon, President Barack Obama consulted with MSNBC host Al Sharpton, who's also assiocated with the National Action Network (NAN), about the fiscal talks between the White House and Congress. At the same meeting, Obama also consulted with other "leaders of civil rights and civic organizations."

Via the pool report:

President Obama and Vice President Biden met with leaders of civil rights and civic organizations to discuss negotiations over how to avoid the fiscal cliff. The meeting lasted over an hour, and participants spoke to reporters outside the West Wing after they wrapped up.

Per the White House, expected attendees included:

* Peter Berns, The Arc
* Sister Simone Campbell, NETWORK
* Chad Griffin, Human Rights Campaign (HRC)
* Wade Henderson, Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR)
* Deepa Iyer National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA)
* Ben Jealous, NAACP
* Marc Morial, National Urban League
* Janet Murguia, National Council of La Raza (NCLR)
* Barry Rand, AARP
* Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, MomsRising.org
* Rev. Al Sharpton, National Action Network (NAN)
* Aaron Smith, Young Invincibles
* Rev. Jim Wallis, Sojourners

Pool can confirm that Campbell, Henderson, Iyer, Jealous, Morial, Murguia, Rand, Sharpton, Smith and Wallis were there, 'cause they all came out and talked.

Are you kidding me? Al Sharpton? La Raza? Almost all of these are leftists and communists. Well, I guess we can expect more redistribution, higher taxes, and limitless spending. Welcome to the People's Republic of Obamaland.

Every day we edge closer and closer to the edge of the cliff and when we get there barry will push us off...
Yet another in an increasingly long line of "the sky is really, really, really, really, really falling this time" threads.

From who else but the bitter losers.

WTF else is new? It's just another day in the Sandbox!
Elections have consequences. Thanks goodness the Republicans are still in control of the House.

Okay, granted. (loud groan).

Al Sharpton is Bad news with a Capital B.

But, I would not automatically discard him as worthless.

. . . Even a snarly junk yard dog might be useful in certain compromising situations.

Well, it's not like he could meet with any Republican Civil Rights leaders. There aren't any. David Duke was the last spokesman on racial relations than ran as a Republican.
