50/50 Raffle and Pepper Update

Good news for all of you that wanted Pepper to get all of the 50/50 raffle money. Since no one claimed the prize I gave her all of the money on Saturday.

ABQ and I took a road trip to visit with her and give her the gifts from all of the terrific people that made donations. In spite of being in pain from the medication she had been given the previous day the hat and cards she received from members of this community brought a smile to her face and boosted her spirits. I can't thank all of you enough for that.

Medically she is doing what she has to. The treatment she is receiving is hard on her and it is difficult to call that doing great but she is enduring the process and doing what she needs to to stay as healthy as possible.

She does check her messages and likes to hear from her friends. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
It definitely sucks to go through it but afterward the bad memories continue to dim and are replaced by new good experiences.
Thanks for the updates , good to hear she's doing as well as could be expected .

I'm sure the money helped a lot, but sometimes knowing you have such a large support group behind/rooting for you is something you can't put a dollar amount on. Get well soon, sweet lady!

Thanks for the update. Let her know we are all pulling for her.
I just got off the phone with Pepper...she's a STRONG girl...Bless her heart! She's still the Pepper we know!

She told me, "oh, btw...I just shaved off the rest of my hair! I just got tired of seeing it all over the place! I keep lookin' at myself in the mirrior! I mean...I just can't stop looking!" (laughs...that little Pepper laugh!)

Then, without skipping a beat...she says, "well, at least I don't have to shave my legs anymore...they really ought to come up with *Chemo Shave Cream!*" (lol)

She has a long hard road ahead of her...as does other Cancer patients we know! Bless all of them! She's a positive person...that's one of her truly amazing qualities! Laughter IS good for the soul!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We have MUCH to be grateful for!!

Pepper, is always in my "thoughts and prayers". She will get pass all this. She needs a lot of rest. Til then I will be checking on her from time to time. Get well pepper.
In my opinion anyone that is dealing with cancer and has a big moral and support sytem behind them is going to help tremendously. It gives thaat person maybe even an extra shot of energy they might not of had to begin with that day.

To deal with Cancer one has to be emotionally and mentally strong day after day. The mind set is I am going to war against Cancer and Cancer will lose. That being said having friends who care and support is just as powerful if not more.

Hang in there Pepper and fight it each day. It is hard now but continue to fight. I agree with everything Laz said this group is amaazzing for all the support they have sshown pepper.

Great that you gave money back. That is the normal way to do it.

Chemo Shave Cream! Sweetie we'll make a fortune. Pepper I tried calling and your # is gone. Don't think you can get away from me so easily. I'll track you down because a pimp like me can't let his #1 money making girl get away. How am I supposed to afford my Cadillac payments?

I am pleased the prize was not claimed. The real prize will be when Pepper is well and joining us for another bar-b-que throwdown. I will be there!
