A three-time U.S. Olympian whose illustrious running career has included a Nike TV commercial, a swimsuit calendar, and ongoing promotional work for Disney has spent the last year doubling as a $600-an-hour call girl, an astounding secret life that she now regretfully calls a “huge mistake.”

The mistake was thincking she could keep it quiet. But Olympic taint should be worth more than $600/hour.

Wow.

I have read numerous posts, mostly from companions, that a significant number of escorts are married. I wasn't entirely sure of this claim (not for any particular reason) but as usual, the evidence is growing that I am wrong.

She did this for the thrill of it. She had plenty of money, plenty of fame and plenty of success.

It's unfortunate she had to state it was a "huge mistake", because I'm pretty sure she doesn't feel that way. In fact, based on the tone of the interview where she immediately owned the story, her only regret is likely how it impacts her family. Otherwise, she strikes me as a Belle de Jour-type, who felt no regret and spoke about how she actually enjoyed her part-time profession when she wasn't a nuclear physicist.

Fascinating story. Just thinking how many more Suzy Favor Hamiltons are out there...

I regret her not touring down to San Antonio. I wouldn't mind working out with her. We could've had a Greek marathon.

She should have staid away from those bastards at Disney,
they could corrupt anybody. What a Mickey Mouse organization.
"Favor Hamilton also blamed herself for being “too trusting.” She expected other participants in the insular escort business--where men seeking sex are called “hobbyists” and women selling it are “providers”--to honor a code of silence. Though she seemed entirely sincere, it was nonetheless a credulous notion that client and escort were morally bound by some implicit pledge of omerta.

Why would her secret be safe with guys about whom she knew nothing (except that many were paying for sex while their spouse was back home)?

These johns slept with an attractive former Olympian, an All-American girl with a Wikipedia page and a Nike commercial on YouTube. How could they not boast about their costly Las Vegas escapades? A Google search by any of these “hobbyists” would have quickly established Favor Hamilton’s status as a public figure as well as her athletic bona fides."

For every "hobbyist" who asks "What's our real name? or starts telling me another provider's personal details ...............

One thing is for sure: You would never, ever outlast her. She would always be the last one standing.

I wonder which is the greater scandal: Lance Armstrong's cheating or Suzy Favor Hamilton's escorting.

BTW, if I had spent $600 to boff her, I damn well would brag about it. It's like fucking athletic royalty.

By her demeanor and public response, it seems that her only regret is that she simply got caught. The thrill of the game is all good, but for someone having a public persona, to tell clients and expect it never to surface, is just stupid. A psychiatrist/psychologist would certainly have some interesting things to say about this chick.

I would only see her if she wore a gold medal when she answered the door.

I'm not sure why this is a story. Just because Ms. Favor Hamilton is of minor note due to her past participation as an Olympic Runner doesn't make this News worthy. She is far from the first semi-famous woman to turn to Providing to supplement/maintain her lifestyle. Since she co-owns a Reality Company with her Spouse in Wisconson. It wouldn't suprise me to find out that the "real" reason she turned to Escorting was to keep the Company afloat the last few Years.

I don't doubt that part of the reason for her foray into the demimonde was a need to supplement her income. These have not been good times for realtors. Maybe her story is that she is an example of how the poor economy is pushing women into escorting. In fact, I see a local woman who's day job is a realtor has just rekindled her escorting career.

You are quite right about that awl4knot. Prime examples are Paris Hilton and the Kardashians. At least Ms. Favor Hamilton did something worthwiled to get her Fame and not just have a good PR rep.
I cannot imagine why this came to light. I don't believe she was arrested. Why would she admit to it to a reporter?
