No Budget...Again

But its not like anyone is going to pass it anyway.

The White House has informed House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) that it will miss the legal deadline for sending a budget to Congress.
Acting Budget Director Jeff Zients told Ryan (R-Wis.) late Friday that the budget will not be delivered by Feb. 4, as required by law, a House aide said.

“Late Friday evening, Deputy Director Zients confirmed that for the fourth time in five years, the president’s budget will not be submitted in compliance with the law,” the aide said.

“Zients did not indicate how late the administration will delay its submission, simply noting ‘We will submit it to Congress as soon as possible,’ ” the aide said. Ryan last Wednesday had asked the White House in a letter if it would miss the deadline.

Under the law, Obama must submit a budget by the first Monday in February, but he has met the deadline only once. The annual budget submission is supposed to start a congressional budgeting process, but that has also broken down. The Senate last passed a budget resolution in 2009.

Ryan’s office says that Obama has missed the budget deadline by more than any president since the 1920s. Obama’s first budget was delayed until May, while his second budget was delivered on time. The last two budgets were late but came in February.

Just disgusting....another "we'll get around to it eventually". No one in Washington has any real interest in getting this country back on track. Just keep on spending on whatever you want, its easy when there's no budget to have to work within.

No one in congress wants to pass a budget anymore. It is much easier to just increase funding for all programs by x % in a continuing resolution. They can add new programs using another bill and can fund pork projects inside of other bills.

This way none of them can be held to task on the budget when it is time for re-election. It is easy to blame the other chamber, or the other party that a budget has not passed. It is much harder to defend voting for something inside of what would be a complex budget.

The house needs to refuse to pass another continuing resolution and force the Senate to pass a budget that they can then reconcile with. This is idiocy and the republicans need to work on the presentation to the public so that they are not blamed for this. One option might be for them to determine how much taxes would have to go up for EVERYBODY to pay for all of this. Let the public demand the spending cuts or pay the tax but let the public drive the decision.

If the Republicans did offer any type of argument or solution that would force the Democrats to look at spending, the News Media would ignore it.

Then they would blame the Republicans for shutting down the Government.

As long as we have a Print and Broadcast Media that gets down on it's knees and sucks the President's dick, the best the Republicans can hope for is a continuing grass roots campain that keeps the them in a majority in the House.

It is possible for grass roots communication to occur. The irresponsible media does make it more difficult but not impossible. Telling all of the low income voters their taxes will go up if spending is not cut will also get their attention. Don't insist on cutting spending. Simply insist on taxes levels that support the spending. That will get the people to demand spending cuts. Especially when you start putting out lists of some of the stupid things the feds are doing with the tax dollars.

The House has passed more than one budget in the last two years but they languish in the Senate and Harry Reid said (with a laugh) that he will not vote on anything that comes from the house. The democratic party has become criminals as well as being foolish.

That is what happens when "its the Republicans fault" becomes the mantra of liberals. It is the only phrase they can all repeat with letter perfect accuracy. It is absolutely shameless how eagerly liberals are to blame republicans, and how quickly and easily the masses eat it up.
