The Great Reneger
Michael Fischer ©2009

1. Hey have you heard he’s gone back on his word
On the internet there’s a big long list
Of promises broken so eloquently spoken
And you wonder why so many millions are pissed?! Cause

(Chorus)
He's the Great Reneger a politician at heart
A politician practicing his art
He’s the Great Reneger, neither black or white
He’s many shades of grey far left from what’s right

2. He’ll tell you anything to get you on his side
Like “Change You Can Believe In”, “Trust me would I lie?”
“We’ll have transparency”, “CSPAN”, “Post all bills on the net”
“There’ll be no lobbyists, no pork”, Have we seen it? Not Yet! (chorus)

Bridge 1
They’ve had votes in the night behind closed doors
Senators bribed no better than whores
Pushing their program refusing to hear
When the voice of the people is perfectly clear (chorus)

3. His skin so thin and when scratched you can see
The horrible sight that lies just beneath
An unseasoned novice lifted up in pride
But there’s a fall come’n soon and there’ll be no place to hide! (Chorus)

Bridge 2
Teleprompter in place he can really talk that talk
Blowin’ smoke is cheap but he don’t walk the walk
What a politician hates is when you turn on the light
He’ll run like a roach for the darkness of night.
(Chorus)

P.S. It only took Herr O'Bama twenty three days to do a fly over on the greatest ecological disaster in American history. Compared to Dubyas THREE days following Katrina. But he seemed to have plenty of time to attend concerts and play golf. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. H

This just in: on 3 July Robbie Knieval will attempt to jump a lake near Valdosta, Ga. Then, on Independence Day, he's going to attempt to jump about 2,000 "Nude GLBT Bicyclists for Obama" strung out on the Golden Gate Bridge.

For that jump, Robbie will be in his Caterpillar D-9 Bulldozer.

Let's hear it for Robbie! And gravity.

For your information, oil spills are happening all the time. Collectively, if every seven days you added up all the oil spills that occur every day in the US, you will get the same amount of oil as spilled in Valdez. That is 4 Valdez spills every month.

Sweet Heather, please don't use the Herr title on BHO. It was low tact demagoguery when the ASPD board libs used it on GW.

Did George W. Bush cover up a major environmental disaster during his presidency? In October of 2000, 300 million gallons of mercury- and arsenic-laced coal slurry flooded land, polluted rivers and destroyed property in Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. The slurry had been contained in a huge reservoir by the Massey Energy Company, killing everything in the streams all the way up the Ohio River.
Jack Spadaro, head of the National Mine Health and Safety Academy (MSHA), a branch of the Department of Labor, initiated an investigation – but it was cut short when the Bush Administration, which had decided that the country needed more energy and less regulation of energy companies, took office. Spadaro had blown the whistle on his own regulators, saying they hadn’t done their job, and complained to the Labor Department’s inspector general.
In 2004, Spadaro had his office raided by government agents who went through his files, changed the locks on the doors and accused him of abusing his authority. He was demoted – silenced, some say, by the Bush Administration. His replacement, Dave Lauriski, was a former mining industry executive himself, and Massey Energy was off the hook. Spadaro had planned to cite the company for eight violations, but Laurinski cut it down to two and required just $110,000 in fines.
Years later, slurry remains on many of the properties that line the streams – it was never properly cleaned up.

Not seeing anything about the Seven days....

Your source claims itself as "EarthFirst.com is a fun, irreverant green blog featuring the latest environmental news, exclusive features, original cartoons and videos."

You could give WTF a run for his money in fact based laziness.

But what's got me worried is man-made continental drift. Congressman Hank Johnson, DEM., Ga, already went all Cassandra over the early stages of this human caused disaster in Congressional testimony when he alerted us about the possibility of 8000 more Marines in Guam capsizing that fine little island. Terrifying thought, huh? (btw, I don't mean the thought of Guam flipped over by 8000 Marines).

Pardon me; I digress. You seem to be saying that a natural disaster deserves a faster federal government response than a man-made one. Is that what you're saying? That's confusing to me, because I have read that federal law passed right after the Valdez spill not only enables but requires primary federal responsibility for mitigation and clean-up of any subsequent major oil spill disasters (with, of course, the financial responsibility belonging to the corporation). It appears to me, then, that Obama has reneged on taking the responsibility...other than to assault the Constitution to shake-down BP for $20B for his slush fund (I wonder how many Deepwater Horizon victims will ultimately turn up to have never left Chicago) and to defy precedent by refusal to waive the Jones Act, which protects his union thug buddies but deprives the coast of supertankers doing the skimming instead of shrimp trawlers. The difference is scalable.

Consider this: if BP spill's being a man-made disaster is some sort of excuse for Obama's irresponsibility, then what are we to expect from him when AQ blows that radiologic device in some major American city? If that ain't a man made disaster then I'm even more confused than usual.

Well, we can certainly count on him sending in thousands of lawyers to settle zoning issues when the (radioactive) dust settles. We can also rest assured Obama will grant the terrorists full Constitutional rights to due process, the rights he denied evil profit-seeking corporations like BP and - in the Chrysler and GM government takeovers - to the private bondholders in order to give their interests in Chrysler and GM to union thugs.

I'm sorry. He's just a tiny little man with a bloated opinion of himself, and he's in way the hell over his head.

Boring, too. That's why I can't wait to see Robbie jump his bulldozer over all them Obama supporters on Independence Day...

Please don't confuse the natural process of petroleum, among other substances, venting through the ocean floors and extensively scattered, that cumulatively amount to "an Exxon Valdez spill per quarter", or a "Santa Barbara equivalent per month", or however else you wish to misrepresent it. Let's just say a shitload of oil leaks into the oceans in a scattered enough array that homeostasis occurs, unlike a steady honking pulse of oil in one location.

"Carol Browner, director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy, told Obama at one of the earliest briefings in late April that the blowout would likely lead to an unprecedented environmental disaster, senior White House aides told The Daily Beast. Browner warned that capping a well at such depths had never been done before, and that they ought to expect an oil spill that would continue until a relief well was drilled in August, the aide said."

Nobody can blame Obama for his inability to cap the well. It is reasonable, however, to consider his obstructiveness to Gov. Jindal's plan to dredge berms and to the offer by Dutch and other interests to fit our their supertankers as skimmers to constitute criminal negligence. Obama refused to protect the Gulf Coast because the necessary step to do so (waiver of Jones Act) interferes with his political agenda.

How low will he have to go before you stop embarassing yourself trying to defend him?

By the way, Robbie is Evel Knievel's son. See post 5.
Since you brought up AQ, Bush had intel informing him that AQ had plans on using planes to blow up buildings.
