At Least Vice President Biden Got This Right

By far the best weapon for all occasions is a good 12 gage. I prefer 1 7/8 ounce #5 Turkey Loads. Devastating.

That is my biggest argument against the assault weapons ban. A 12 gauge shotgun is far more deadly at close range.

If I do buy a gun for protection, and for fun, it would be a 12 gauge shotgun. Probably do that someday.

I tell women who work late at night that are worried about their safety that they should strap a shotgun over their shoulder when they go out to their car. You don't need a permit for it and no one is going to mess with you.

I regret not buy the "streetsweeper" a few years ago (1999), when you could buy one w/o registration with the ATF.

Check around, you may be able to find one.

The go to firearm of choice, if you could only have one, is the venerable 12 gauge pump shotgun. Very simple to operate. Very effective for in home protection. With a wide variety of loads available from slugs to bird shot, effective for hunting deer down to birds. In home you don't need much since all of your shots will be at close range and you do not want to go through the walls and possibly kill or injure an innocent.

There is not many sounds more recognizable than the sound of a shell being jacked into the chamber.
