In his testimony today Secretary of Defense Leon Pantyshield said that after his initial meeting with Obama he did not talk to him the rest of the day of the Benghazi attack. He did not talk to him the next day and Obama didn't issue him any orders. Only the president can authorize a military operation inside another country. The phrase "dereliction of duty" comes to mind.
Obama went on TV with a local reporter and said that he gave orders, paid attention, and was on the scene with the attack. Pantyshield says that he called it an early night and went to bed as far as he knows.
General Dempsey said that he recieved no orders to take the necessary action to save American lives.
The next day Obama flew to Las Vegas for a union campaign rally.
