i have a friend who suffered from bulimia, and although she seems better, still encounters health problems, and still battles this mental illness, (i am not sure if it is mental illness, but I would say it is)

Eating disorders are primarily diagnosed on the behavioral health/DSM side, since it's usually not a physically driven issue.

It's unfortunate that such trickery exists in mass media that it convinces women to covet an unrealistic standard. Although then again, sometimes it's not an issue of appearance, it's more an issue of control of a person's body/life. Sad.
