Economy and the hobby

This maybe an old topic but here goes. I have talked to a few providers who have noticed business has slowed down. My disposable income has also dropped and I find myself more reluctant to spend on the hobby due to economic uncertainty. I find myself looking out for specials and deals rather then going out when I feel like it. I still get the urge to hobby and sometimes that gets the better of my financial head. Lol. I do feel worried about some the ladies who rely on this as there main source of income and I hate to see talented ladies leave the hobby. At the same time I am curious if anyone has gone into the hobby due to the economic downturn . I am hoping things will pick up but it does not look like it will anytime soon. SA is certainly doing better than most and I am lucky to have my job. But at the same time all the uncertainty has certainly caused me some anxiety that translates into the hobby world. What do you guys think?

As for the hobby being a possible source of income...

Not me. After all the idea is to make money.

And yes, this topic has been discussed before in forums in quite a few different areas.
Not to beat a deadhorse but I was reading several reports About bad economic news today and thought it would be interesting to bring the topic up.

Make money in the hobby Mokoa? No offense, but as a provider you'd starve!

But I agree, specials rock. And unfortunately, many of our lovely providers seem to think posting an ad is a special. Times are tough out there and I know they feel it. But this is not the time to be raising rates, although I bet many of them think "Hey, I'm seeing fewer guys, I need more money, I'll go up and that will cover it." Wrong...that just causes fewer visits.
Lol tazion . I am sure most of us guys would starve as providers . I leave that to our lovely ladies. What amazes me is some girls really understand the marketing aspect . Like the new iPhone . Sure most people do not really need it but they have to have it. Same thing here. I will see an ad and will go crazy trying to schedule with that provider when I otherwise would have not hobbied that week.
I have no facts or stats, but I've often wondered whether the bad economy has had another effect, besides a drop in the clientele -- i.e., an increase in "competition." Girls who can't land a decent job elsewhere -- or who can, but aren't able to make ends meet on their wages/salaries -- are turning to BP/CL and offering their services. The drop in clientele and concurrent rise in competition would make it doubly tough on "established" providers.

Lowering ones donations doesn't indicate that guys will see them or their business will increase. Rather, by lowering ones donations to a certain point. Tends to cause those providers to attract certain unsavory type of men. Who in the end, cause issues for those ladies in one way or another.

Yes the economy is not as it once was. We all get that.
But that doesn't mean the ladies in this adult lifestyle should have to lower their donations and give of their bodies & time in the manner in which some men dictate is necessary for them to see said providers.

It all boils down to the fact that you hobby according to what your *extra* funds will allow. If you don't have *extra* funds to play then you don't hobby.
But don't expect providers to give of their bodies & time to you for less; while you expect more in return. It's disrespectful.

Even when times are tough do not expect the rates to adjust accordingly. Some will and some will not. It is solely the providers' choice.

If you can afford the rate, cool. It you cannot, then save up. Simple as that.

I have seen alot of these discussions lately. Yes, I "get it" too that the economy sucks for many and that is too bad.

But in truth and actuality, my business has soared since February of this year. I have no idea what it is or why but it had been a blessing. I have talked to a few other ladies and they are the same- doing great and the clients have no problem with funds and business seems great on their part too.

I dont really think the "majority" of the economy is so bad. I think it is more like a hit and miss and that comes all the way through the vine. It all really just depends.

I love to post occassional specials for certain people on certain boards and that have references. But there is a point to WM's post about how low a provider goes. If a lady stoops down too low- that IS and WILL be the type of client she will inherit. I know this from experience. That is why there is always a limit. However, for the specials I do give, I think and I have been told by many gents that they are most reasonable especially for the quality of service I provide. In the end, it is the lady's SOLE choice to post whatever donation she feels is her worth and if she wants to post a special that is also her SOLE choice and no one should ever threaten or dictate for her to do otherwise. I have also seen this happen to ladies and it is disgusting and an effort to outright bully someone into changing a rate to appease them. Just my .02.

Specials would be nice, BUT I agree with Wicked and KKA; there's an 'ol saying "you get what you pay for"

i think it's just a human nature thing to seek out a bargain,BUT with that being said i do tend to agree if the price is too low it tends to bring out all sorts of people - hopely i offended no one____what i think would be appropriate, is somehow pass on an occasional special rate for regulars which many of these ladies already offer! it rewards the regular client for his loyalty & the provider stimulates biz(no pun intended), this is in the end a word of mouth(written review) biz, thus the recap of a great session will make us want to try out different providers --wasn't that reaganomics___ the trickle down effect!LOL!

I don't see how or why a hobbyist should or would become loyal to a lady in this lifestyle. Vice versa.
He's seeking a companion to spend time with. Outside of respecting her in many ways. I don't feel any hobbyist owes loyalty to a provider nor vice versa.

I was just curious about the comment made in relation to specials offered.

Specials and "customer loyalty" go hand it hand. And I believe that is just what he meant.

If a client sees you say twice and you really have a great time with him and he has twice paid your regular rate- then say you offer him a discount for coming to see you EVERY week. That kind of loyalty and regular and frequent clientele base is what I think he was referring to. Then the statement becomes better justified and understood as far as going together with specials.
