Small town fascination :)

ive always been intrigued by small towns...
their charm, hospitality, hole in the wall resturants with food so good itll make you wanna slap your momma!!!
and just everything about them.
(big city girl here...not sure if i could actually "make it" in a small town...call me a rebel )

but ive wondered how people ended up in a small town, and what made them choose to stay vs leave.
anyone care to share?
(without getting "too toooo" personal, if thats possible)

also...between killeen, b/cs, waco....which city have you had the most fun in, hobbywise?
have you ever traveled "from" killeen/bcs/waco ........ "to" killeen/bcs/waco just to visit a provider?
was it worth it?
(maybe your city wasnt on her tour route. but you still wanted to meet her. i ask bc, although the cities are grouped together, i understand that they are not relatively close...so whos travelled for some kitti? )

ladies that travel, between the 3 cities...which is your favorite, and why?

just wondering.....

this kitti stays curious!!!
I am in a small town because that i where I grew up, once I finished college and came back here and opened up a business. there are some things about a small town I like, and there are some things about a big city I miss.

I traveled fairly recently from Waco to Killeen solely for a provider. Provider flaked, went AWOL and I ultimately wasted 1.5 hours total drive time.

It cuts both ways...Providers get burned by flaky hobbyists, and we get burned by flaky providers. That said, I probably would hesitate before driving again only for a provider and not as an "also" tacked on to other bidness.

I have lived in many places including the UK. I am not military just a businessman and I was recruited by a company and moved to Waco 10 years ago. I also have travelled to Killeen to meet providers also Dallas and Austin. I don't plan on being here for much longer I am not a small town person and am looking at other opportunities.

I am a small town guy. I cringe when I have to or need to go to a big city like Killeen
I love a town that has a road sign that says "small town" 1 mile and I still can't see it.
...if I could only get a provider to stop here.

I love a small town something about the whole in the wall bars and a great place to grab some great food (busters). The hospitality espically when I go down to the coast now that spring is kicking up and the weather is getting warmer Port Aransas is screaming my name. I went down there last year to go deep sea fishing and caught a few reds and I just love the ocean and the salt breeze,
My Birthday is coming up maybe this is a trip I need to take...
So cool!! Thanks for sharing!! Even saw a couple handles ive never seen before
Hiiii!!
Im always amazed when people move "to" a small town.
Im a history buff...i like learning about histories of cities, streets, etc
Just weird random stuff lol..im super good at trivia & jeopardy though!!

Saytown...i wish i could make up that bad experience for you
(Disclaimer: i am *not* the girl he was referring to, that flaked)

great question........I lived in smal towns in texas until i was 40.....I was raised to stay with your own [or at least not too far}.........then I said "fuck it,I need to see what is out there".....so I spent the weekend packing and took off on a 10 day roadtrip to oregon......it was scarey but the BEST move I made ever! Now I have visited over 40 states and enjoying the big cities best!!! I especially luv new orleans and Austin!!
SMall towns are the best........Waco use to be my favorite years ago then it went to FLAKE and Discount City.... BCS is now the bomb diggity bomb to me... I have decided after 2 yrs of marking Waco off my list to try them one more time. Just to see.

I had my choice to go either left or right on the map and I had this repeat kept begging me to go left so I chose left went 2 hrs left got there and he sends a message saying sorry I got called into work have to fly to Atlanta for 3 days.. DAMN DAMN DAMN so yeah it works and doesnt work sometimes.

For the most part small citys are great.
If the guys just remember WE DO NOT DRIVE 2 to 7 Hrs. pay gas and Hotel Fees to give discounts or to be stood up.

Now sometimes things happen and oh well both understand that

Recently, a lady made a trip to one of our small towns, drove 150 miles to get there, and got a room (just for him, as she did not advertise she was coming), only to have the gent cancel at the last minute. That is unacceptable. After a few PMs, the gent did pay for her hotel room. Still, she is out $30 in gas and her time and the appointments she COULD have made by staying where she was.

I hope your regular takes care of you. Otherwise, many of us in small towns will find ourselves driving to the big city whenever we need some company.

Now as to small towns... the town my dad was raised near is on a US Highway, but still only has one traffic light in town. It is at the main st and highway intersection and it simply "blinks". Small town for sure.....and everybody knows everybody as well as their business.
