Who loves to go Fishing ? Now that spring season is coming up I am ready to go snag a few catches either salt water or fresh water.
Do any of you gents know a great place to go to? Anywhere that is biting right now?

The Sandy's(white or sand bass) are starting to run up Nolan Creek on the N.E. end of Lake Whitney. You can park on FM933 a few miles south of Blum and walk in to the Creek. Its about a half mile hike, you can't miss it. There will many cars parked on the west side of the road just north of the bridge.
Also on Lake Aquila east of Hillsboro and 2 miles N. of Peoria the crappie should start spawning any day now. Any of the creeks on the north end of the lake that bring in water from the rains are usually a great place to go. You will need a boat for that one. Its been pretty dry this spring so you may not be able to go very far up the creeks. Last year we traveled up north of Hwy 22 and we were catching 40 to 60 fish a day between 2 persons. Best of luck!

I know this spring and summer I need to start fishing more and cook those boys. My special ingredient is coconut based dressing on grilled fish yum.
