I just want to take a few minutes to discuss my rate increase and why I don't do 1/2 hour appointments. I have received some PM's and E-mails regarding this, so I want to make it publicly known so there is no confusion.
I believe in transparency, and I also believe in keeping my clients apprised of why I do what I do.
First of all, I truly enjoy what I do, and I believe it is truly evident in how I handle myself when I see a client.
As many know, my menu is generally wide open, and with that have come many clients with an affinity for learning to speak Greek more fluently. I do enjoy Greek immensely, but the man above didn't design women to speak it all day long (though a great many of you wish he did, lol)
My rate increase for Greek is only meant to perhaps draw down the total number of clients interested in that language, so I can better focus my efforts on my already wide open menu. Maybe there comes a day when I will feel differently, but for right now, this is my effort to make sure I'm 100% for every client I see.
I have read about grandfathering, and while I understand that frame of mind, this "policy change" is for everyone, except for those already scheduled or for those I have had to re-schedule in light of recent activity in the Buffalo area. All appointments going forward, re-books, etc.....will have to follow the rate guidelines outlined in my showcase or on P411.
As far as 1/2 hour appointments are concerned, I don't do them. It takes me the better part of 45-60 minutes to get ready for an appointment, and the same amount of time before I can see someone else after. I don't don't see the value in seeing someone for 30 minutes when it takes me nearly two hours to get ready pre and post. Should clients insist, I suppose I could offer a 1/2 hour for 199.99, but for a penny more, you can have an hour of bliss.
A client of mine mentioned GPS, and I laughed. I think my rates are fair for what level I offer a client.......I'm not going to raise my rates because my service is in demand or I'm super busy. My philosophy is maintaining long term clients, and that isn't going to happen if everyone has to keep guessing if my rates are going to increase, or my menu is going to be more limited. Not going to happen.
I hope this and all future efforts to maintain transparency will help you decide to make an appointment to come and see me.
----Perryay, not sure if this is considered a ThreAD, or not, and is not my objective. Just trying to keep the playing field level is all. Game ON!
