Ipad- iphone

I ran into a little nut cruncher this weekend. My iphone texts are starting to appear on my so's ipad! She found one series of texts with a UTR but I was able to deflect. How do I get rid of this little challenge?
Get a hobby phone and break the iPad.

Though I'm not certain, I have experienced something similar. When I set up my iPad for wifi texting, it defaulted to my SO's text number. Her texts were showing up on my iPad. It might be worth mentioning, that my SO is the primary account holder for iTunes.

After one of my kids showed me exactly where my iPad was located on their iPhone, I almost shit myself. I turned every single option under Cloud to off. That seems to have eliminated data sharing and device tracking between members of the same account.

With Apple these days you can track anyone ... They just came out with a new app that parents use to get alerts anytime their child uses certain words or talks about engaging in certain illegal activities...

you probably have your imessage turned on. try turning iemssage off. settings->messages->off imessage. I hope this helps.

The rest of you need to shut off iMessage on your iPads and iPhones. You can find it under Settings > Messages.

I think you and your wife need separate Apple IDs. Or turn off all sharing/backup in the iPhone.

This has happened to me once before, a client was texting me and his wife said she was
laughing her ass off because she kept getting my texts and was not able to see any of his texts. Well she thought it was funny as hell that someone was sending her dirty messages on accident, he laughed it off and said wow that is some funny shit. She never even thought it was for him. Now if I have I message turned on in my settings he doesn't receive any messages from me I have to turn it off.

I just had that same scenario happen. I iPhone bit the dust and I borrowed a friends old iPhone and replaced the SIM card. The next thing I know, friend is getting all my texts on his phone. At first all I did was install the SIM card, then I wiped the phone and set it up under my apple ID. Still the same problem. I had to turn off iMessage and data sharing with him to get it to stop sending my texts. Haven't had the problem since.

Solution #2: get a hobby phone and/or different S.O. The phone will probably be cheaper :-D

Is this Apple specific? Has anybody experienced this with non-Apple phones/OSs?
Like mentioned before me, it's all because of iMessage. Be sure to turn it OFF.

Settings -> Messages -> iMessage switch to OFF.
From there look below:
MMS Messaging is ON (MMS is what we know as traditional texting)
Group Messaging is OFF
Show Subject Field is OFF
Character Count is OFF

The reason why it's going to your iPad is because they're probably all linked to the same email account you use to log into Apple. Everything gets synced to the same place.

A reason Apple does so well is because it gave the consumer the ability to go from their iMac desktop to their iPad to their iPhone and still retain the same information. For the business person, this is amazing! To those in the hobby, it's potential disaster!
