Oil Spill Hobby Impact ???

The oil spill is 3 months and counting. Has the spill affected you as hobbiest or provider? As a hobbiest have you had to cut back or cut out due to income loss tied to the spill. As a provider have you noticed a decline in appointment activity, or have you lost a client for the time being because they have been directly impacted due to loss of income?

Are you still able to hobby but on a tighter budget and shopping for lower cost sessions? As a provider due you have more regular type clients who are now wanting to re negotiate the fee?

Hey Radar - you sound like an atty ready to represent providers and clients for losses suffered - LOL! That would be great if providers could claim lost wages. Actually, I had one provider tell me business had picked up because BP had hired all these people to police the beaches for very good money, but then only worked them a few hours day. That gave them money and time to play, but the downside is that inexpensive hotel rooms are now hard to find in some areas.
This is something I've wondered as well, but have decided to visit New Orleans in August anyways. I was there for January/Febuary, it will be interesting to see the comparison.

My heart goes out to the people and animals who have been affected by this man made tragedy.

Personally, I use Priceline to book my hotel rooms. I've had a number of requests for me to visit Houma, but Priceline had no vacancies in Houma or Thibodaux. The closest I could get was Morgan City and I had some hobbiests say that's too far and would take to long to travel there, hobby and then drive back.
Good luck finding anything close to Houma. The oil spill is a boom for those hotels right now.
HMM, guess I might have to cancel my trip Monday!

I am thinking about a trip to Houma soon..hope the hotels have a room{lol}

I am visiting Pensecola soon and have found it hard to find a decent hotel{lots of 2 stars,but not many 3 & 4 stars available}....I have found that Pensacola is busy{alot of guys drive from mobile}
Hmm, what about seeking out a studio and splitting time with ladies?
I thought about that for Houma since there aren't any places listed online. I did end up getting a room. Holy Crap. I literally got the last room in town! Took a bit of perisitence and wasnt cheap.

i'll take it though. I really like going to Houma. Nice , loyal guys, not far.
