Vouching for all events closes 48 hours before the event.

Hello ck1942,

My p411 handle is paolo738. I heard of the social from a contact and I'm interested in attending the next Austin social.
paola738 ==> until ck1942 comes along (he doesn't view this forum that much) please see the information I posted in #7 above. While its nice you have Preferred 411 - we really have our own vouching processes which includes Austin and other areas. Thank you and hope to meet you at one sometime.

Dennisrn pretty much covered the elementary process but here's a bit of expansion... that explains some of the background on invitations for gents and for ladies. Recall please that these events have been around since 2001.

Gents,

I ask that you - the hobbyist - (to protect your personal data) have at least two established providers (here or elsewhere, as long as I can verify them) send me direct vouches for sessions from within the past 90 days or so.

What the providers will tell me is 1) you are a legit hobbyist who has played within the past 90 days and respected her rules, and 2) she believes you will respect the event rules. (which link is in my signature).

Ladies,

I ask that you be a verified provider here or elsewhere and that you have some folks who can vouch for you directly as for the gents (see above) and quite often I don't wait for ladies to ask for an invite as sometimes gents will refer them directly to me or if they are "visiting" I directly ask hobbyists (from their reviews) or providers who know them.

Either way, there's an extensive data base (nothing of a very personal nature) that tracks incoming and outgoing invite requests and invites. Attendance and re-vouching are also tracked.

Invitees who don't attend events at least every couple of months are asked if they want to stay on the list. And reminded to attend from time to time so they can be considered "active" invitees.

All gents are re-vouched every three or four months to assure that they are still "active" hobbyists, because, for event purposes, those are the gents (and ladies, too) who are on the active invite list.

Yes, we have both UTR ladies and UTR gents on the invite list and rules above apply to them as well.

I ask that all who receive invites RSVP so I can keep the host venues up to date on anticipated attendance for quality food and drink service.

For those who haven't read the rules of late, there's a link in my signature to the full version. But here are the basics:

-- nothing illegal
-- no outright or forthright hobby discussion
-- no camera action
-- respect all attendees and "civilian customers" too
-- leave any issues with others outside the venue

The rules have worked very well in public, semi-public, semi-private and very private venues. All of these types of venues have been used for various functions over the years with some success.

Most events have some sort of "theme" with the bigger events, such as HolloWeenie and XXXmas attracting greater attendance. Otherwise, we usually average somewhere around 45 to 60 at lunches and happy hours in San Antonio and HH's in Austin, too.
