Question. What's Your Opinion Of Reviews From Other Websites?

Since the ECCIE Chicago board is kind of slow, I'm ashamed to say that I had to go other websites, such as TER, to get reviews on some of the providers in the area. A question to my fellow hobbyists (and providers if you want to jump in), what's your opinion on the reviews found at other websites. Do you think that they're accurate or misleading, or somewhere in between?
Nothing is as good as ECCIE in my humble opinion. That said I do look at other board reviews for intel, and have found them to be useful when making decisions. The board is what the community makes of it....takes many to make it thrive.
I think it's the reviewers more than the site itself that make the difference. Some sites prefer/allow less detail & some sites encourage you to write a porn novel. But at both extremes, I've read reviews that are the opposite of that extreme. I prefer information. It doesn't have to be written pornstyle, but it does have to be informative. I like ECCIE for that reason. NR used to be like that, but in the past 6 months to a year, they've changed their options on explicitness. To the site's detriment, I think.
Sure there are some sites that people prefer more than others, but as collective research and exposure I think all the sites are helpful and beneficial. For example, I live in Reno and ECCIE is non existant here! So, I have to use RB which is highly used out here. So naturally thats where most of my reviews are.

So when I decided to travel to other cities like Chicago, I had to point to that site because I had no exposure here on ECCIE or TER or any other sites. From there guys were able to forumulate their opinion doing their research on rather or not to spend time with me. I do like ECCIE better than RB but no one here in Reno uses eccie at all. Even after I attempted to inform the guys I have seen to take a peak and join. Well, it didnt work.

However, I am here and not going anywhere!

As someone who travels frequently and has lived in various cities, you come to find throughout the country different boards are more popularly used. ECCIE is very big in Texas, as was it's primary predecessor ASPD. When I moved to Chicago I came to realize I would not be able to survive on ASPD alone and then later on ECCIE as it came into being.

I did participate and recommend to hobby folks I met ASPD/ECCIE and have seen the area grow though be it slowly. It is a chicken or the egg thing (ladies joining because there is business to be had, gents joining because there are ladies and info to be had).

I do find other boards don't lend themselves to your own personal experiences and/or how you would rate them. I don't need to have XYZ service to highly recommend a lady; ECCIE allows that.

But as anything in life, we shouldn't rely on only one source of info....Hell I love to watch (and I laugh) at how MSNBC and FOX news can report on the same story at times.
