His name is in the papers and online, but I'm not going to mention it in this forum. Suffice it to say that one of the Amarillo hobbyists who got caught up in the recent sting operation by APD is a physician, a general internist. Let's call him Dr. K.
It occurs to me that this arrest may be bad for his practice in a conservative town like Amarillo. That said, I think those of us on Eccie in Amarillo should show solidarity to the hobby by giving him our business. Honestly I haven't liked the wait times I've experienced with my current primary care provider, so I'm switching to Dr. K. And in the unlikely event I ever have to see my doctor for treatment of a hobby related ailment, I'm sure as hell not going to be embarrassed! I suspect that Dr. K will understand, and that he isn't going to be judgemental.
In summary, Dr. K is one of us. He's going through a bad time right now and he may lose some patients. So, if you need a doctor, I'd encourage you to go to K.

Nowadays doctors are also called providers....
along with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, etc

I've known him for years as a medical professional myself. He is a gentle man, and is loved by his patients. The OP's statement regarding injuring his practice was my immediate thought as well since his practice profile skews towards the elderly. While unlikely in practice to help, a very nice thought and vote of confidence for Dr. K.
