Trivial Question

Keystone's Avatar
A provider I've seen a few times said the last time I saw her "no daty because I'm really sore." She pronounced it "day tee". I always said it like "dat tee" like in who dat. Trivial question is which way do you say it.

While pondering this monumental question it occurred to me some enterprising person could make Who Daty" T shirts to sell to New Orleans dogs or use whodaty as their login name. Just an idea or two but I'd still appreciate a response to my question.

I've always just said it letter by letter - D-A-T-Y. Grammatically, it could probably go either way on pronunciation. Since Y is sometimes used as a vowel, the general rule is when a vowel is followed by a consonant then another vowel, the first vowel is a long vowel, so it would be "day tee." However, since Y is a consonant it could be pronounced "dat tee." I'd say "day tee" is probably correct, but this link - http://www.reference.com/motif/society/what-is-daty - has the pronunciation as "dah-tee."

So, say it however you'd like.

And we do have a member here on ECCIE - DATYMAN - http://www.eccie.net/member.php?u=685

I'm all about Dat and Dis, in a cajun way...... not ebonic. DayT sounds more like a question. " Can I dine at your Y ... Tee ? " DATY is good with me lol
I've heard it pronounced both ways, but the end result is the same!
The acronym in itself sounds really stupid, and being used for a female, I just don't know. Both sexes have Y's if u think about it, just different naughty bits. If a guy was to ask me if he could DATY, I'd tell him no just for asking that way lol

I don't ask, I just go for it and its her place to accept or not.
Really dno't give a darn how u say it as long as its YES YES YES!
uhm, too sore for you to go down on her, but not too sore for sex? I'm doing at least ONE of those things wrong then.....

"Do you mind terribly if I go down on you?"

That's what I say.

"Sweetheart do you want me to go down on you?" or "Sweetheart do you want me to return the favor?" That's how I pronounce it.

Although I've never used the Daty word or letters with a provider, unless I've seen them before where daty was one of the activities, I do ask or indicate what I want in word or action as a matter of courtesy. Was with a provider earlier this week where daty was definitely off the menu. May write a review.
Thanks PornoDave for the grammatical information. You are definitely a linguist, a very cunning linguist.
Re: the OP based on what she said the soreness was likely attributable to an upcoming monthly visit.
