I'm a newb. How do you become screened?

It depends on the lady. You have to follow whatever instructions or required information they ask for. All of the providers operate independently from the site.

How do I obtain references?

You have to meet some ladies that are newbie friendly and that will share their information with other ladies.

Look around on this site there are a number of threads that contain this info. Read as much as you can. Use the search feature up near the top. Try the term"newbie friendly". Sort the ones that include 'NOT' (HINT: save those for later), pick a few ladies who attract your interest, call/PM them. Be polite and respectful. Have a Plan B and maybe a Plan C too. have fun, write a review, repeat as often as funds allow.
