Wonder who had a great week.....
"The money will soon go to the state for safe-keeping."
Oh, that's some funny shit right there. It's not like the kid just found the money on the street. They can easily look up who was just in the room or even the last five occupants. Yeah, they are trying really hard to find out who owns the cash.
First impression: why is that reporter wearing a bathrobe?
Second impression: it was all in hundreds, which seems odd for a provider. None of the clients paid with 20s or 50s?
Third impression: why was it exactly $10,000?
Oh gosh. I was about to start a topic about this because it's being reported in Dallas!
That's a lot of money. I would have been tempted to keep it. But who knows who is connected to it?
Doubt it was a working independent girl. I know that most of us REALLY keep an eye on our funds!
Just a side thought: Wouldn't it be so great to have so much money that if ten thousand is misplaced, you wouldn't miss it?
LOL No, I really don't think it was left behind by a working girl, for exactly the reason Questor points out. If a lady had accidentally left her stash behind it would have been a mixture of 20's, 50's, and 100's, and wouldn't have come out to precisely 10K.
I just thought it was funny and worth a laugh. I also can't help but wonder why the hotel can't simply look up the information of the last person to book the room. And yeah, as a matter of fact that shirt the reporter is wearing does look like a bathrobe! LOL
The KCPD will claim it is drug money and confiscate it to put into their budget. The kid will never see a penny of it.
wow---I would never carry that much cash on me...and if I did,I would hide it in that Gideon bible...lol
I love that the cash counter is a Cummins brand! LOL
Malwoody won the World Series of Poker last week using Pokemon cards, but I've never known him to take his winnings out of his pockets and frequent hotels.
It may belong to an international traveler. $10,000 is the maximum amount of cash you can bring through customs (out of the UK? into the USA? I'm not sure).
I think this may be the case because about 15 years ago, I was on a flight with a business associate from London to New York. One particularly inebriated man was in first class sitting across the aisle from me with just a duffle bag for a carry-on, which he stowed under the seat. He got very mouthy and the flight attendant threatened to have him restrained for the remainder of the flight, but my associate and I were able to calm him down. He explained that he was coming to the USA for a stockholders meeting, flying on a foreign passport. Considering his appearance, I was dubious to say the least. But at the end of the flight, he gave my associate and I each a crisp new $100 bill, from a banded stack of new bills in his bag. He explained that $10,000 was the maximum cash he was allowed to carry through customs.
So it's a possibility.
I would think more than likely the local dope dealer used the room to conduct business, left the room for some reason and did not return, i.e. got arrested, thought the room was hot etc. The hotel assumed the individual checked out and made the bed and re-rented the room.
Who's stupider, the stupid fuck who left the stupid money or the stupid parents who gave it to the stupid cops? Good parents would have taught the boy how to say, "FINDERS KEEPERS!" and that would be that.
Wow, I didn't realize that Bianca actually came to visit...last I knew she was just thinking about it.
