Where are the best campgrounds/resorts with cabins near Kansas City {withen an hour's drive}???

I like canoing/tubing/swimming/beaches/hiking??
I prefer something "not so populated" by kids...lol

Thanks!
I would find the answer to this question interesting as well.

This is the first place that came to mind... Camp Gaea
Amenities differ from place to place, but there are many lakes in Kansas where the state park system rents cabins, as well as traditional campsites.

Smithville lake, not sure about cabins but they have plenty of camp grounds. Camp Gaea is an interesting place if you want to beat bongo drums, pray to mother earth and hang dream catchers. Finding something like your looking for within an hours drive from KC will be tough.

HC asked me just the other day if I woke up with mud on my knees and a condom dangeling from my backside if I would tell anyone..?

When I replied "Hell no", he asked if I would like to go camping....?

Anyway Dallas..sorry for the Hijack and I'm not much help as I prefer camping at the Marriott..but go online, I have heard about..I think it's called Lake Viking..and there is another one up north on the way to Omaha..can't remember the name though..

basswood isnt a bad place have a pool and cabins cpl fishing ponds and only minutes from NKC
Niangua river oasis.. Is a blast with cabins and there is a different camp ground for families and partiers.
I agree with GuyKC. Basswood I believe even has a golf course. It's not cheap.
