Verification request from eccie

curious247's Avatar
A while back I got an email from eccie stating they wanted some info from me because they were upgrading their process to show providers on here that you would verified by handle to display when a provider looks you up. Kinda like 411. Asking for dl# w# and other things. Did anyone else get this email? Little concerned with all the stuff going on right now.

Just you. Make sure you give them your TDL number, SS number, blood type, and taint preferences.
And did you look at the actual email address it came from?
Nope...

Never get emails from them except PM notifications.

Someone may have been phishing. Forward the email to websupport@eccie.net and ask them about it. Always check to see where an email actually came from and never click any links in an email.

Hide Details
In a continual pursuit to bring our members more value for their dollar we at ECCIE are proud to announce we’re rolling out a pre-screening service that will replace P411 and Datecheck as the more reliable solution to the desired anonymity the hobby requires.* You may have noticed that the Search feature has been temporarily disabled in preparation for the upcoming ECCIE screening feature.

Ladies:
Once you’re verified you can screen any registered member who contacts you quickly and easily without leaving ECCIE or even picking up the phone. Time and stress of getting references resolved.* Just look for ECCIE screened under your client's avatar.

Only verified providers will see this info and even then they will only see the following:
****Handle
****Month and Last 2 digits of the DOB year
****Listed First name
****Verified hobby email address (the one you use for ECCIE)
*

Men:
Included with your premium membership or earned ROS access (by posting reviews) you can now be pre-screened by simply filling out the ECCIE provided screening form which we will incorporate into your ECCIE ID.* Screened members will see ECCIE screened under their avatar.* ECCIE will never ask you where you work or how to contact you there so please never provide that info to anyone for your safety.* If a provider on ECCIE asks for more information than we provide from your submittal please inform us immediately as mutual safety is our utmost concern and TMI is what we strive to avoid.

Questionnaire:

What is your ECCIE handle:

What is the month and your year of birth:

What is your first name:

What is your ECCIE listed email address:

What are the last 4 digits of your driver’s license number (only the last 4 please):

If you have a preferred hobby number what is that number (or at least the last four digits)

Here is the copy of the email. Looks like it came from stchristopher@eccie.info

And do you really think ECCIE would ask that information? I mean, SERIOUSLY? What possible use could it be? What scenario of private information storing do you really think happens in the hobby?

I say this with the best intent: get smarter about the internet. Your suspicion is correct, but the fact that you thought it might be genuine is dangerous.

Also, I'm merging this with the other thread, and removing it from Alerts because it's not an alert.

You would think he would spend more time golfing than phishing,
