Can I file a complaint?

So heres what happened.. I am in Houma at a hotel and I had an appointment this morning at 5:15am so I get a call from the front desk asking if I was expecting a Steven. I said no and went back to sleep.. Well then I wake up for my appointment.. And this is what this guy tells me:

He came into the lobby and couldn't use his cellphone because his wife looks over the phone statement so he tried calling me from the lobby phone and it wouldn't go through because its long distance. He said they front desk lady said who are you trying to get ahold of this not so smart man says Keeki... Now here is where my problem comes into play the front desk lady says sorry theres no Keeki here but there is a girl that checked in yesterday whose name is (uses me real name). Now I feel creeped out.. can I complain about it to the manager? Or should I just let this one go due to the fact that I will have to explain where Keeki came from..lol.

ps: the guy was a legit guy who had a lot of references so I am not worried about him.

This idiot needs a hobby phone. And the hotel is not supposed to give out guest information. They should be able to tell you if a guest has checked in or out if you have their name but they can't volunteer your name to someone who doesn't know it already.

That's what I was thinking dave.. when this dude said my first name my mouth dropped...I m just gonna let it go bc it will be more hassle then anything.. I will never stay here again though that's for sure.

That's a big safety issue and the hotel clerk should know better. What if the guy was looking to harm you?
The other thing is run a Google search on keeki & houma and see what kind of hits pop up. If the clerk is smart or bored she could plug that in, of course she would need the correct spelling for keeki.
I think you should let the other ladies know and tread lightly if you decide to complain.

I was in the same situation one time. This was an outcall but I went over to her incall to pick her up. Entire set up was by PM. Then...in her lobby....the young lady surprises me by pm to call her cell for the room number......which is long distance. NFW am I dialing from the number I've had for 10+ years and can be studied by the SO. I went to call her from the lobby phone and was reminded dinosaur land lines are 1+. The desk dude is friendly as fuck and chatting with me as clueless as could be but NFW was I going to describe the girl and try to get her room number. I told the desk dude I was meeting an old college roommate for some beers and cards and wasn't back to his room yet. He could tell I was messaging.

I told her by pm to come out to the lobby or hall or I was leaving. It was no problem for her and she stepped out of the door in the hall as I walked towered the end exit. We hugged...slipped out the side door and got in my truck and left.

I can't believe the Houma desk clerk did that. What's really scary...is what if you were the wrong girl? and who else do they give out names to?

At this point, I would just let it go....but miss diva is right. DingDongs like that should be fired.

I've learned.....My hobby phone is a pita to text and of course I have to pay each day I use it and I can't use it if I don't have it.

So I've tried to think ahead and ask each new lady early in the process...."please tell me if I'm going to need a phone number at any time. that way I can make sure I have my phone (not always easy) and make sure it has minutes on it that haven't expired (also not easy)." Several times there was NEVER even a hint about a phone required....then at the LAST SECOND, "give me your number." One time I had to go put minutes on and I bought a card at walgreens and it took like 30 minutes or more for the code to activate. I've tried from then on to get the from the ticker printer...not a "card"...it seems to be faster.

I usually contact by pm. then after time is agreed, I send an invite from P411 with information that ties it to the PMs. 411 lists an email and I usually get contacted back by email...which is fast and easy. If somebody is going to need to be called or call me, it is nice to know well in advance.

ps - when are you coming to Houston?
