Do you think they'll actually find him guilty?

Has anyone been watching the George Zimmerman trial thus far? I recently read about the case and it baffles me. I've heard the prosecutor could be disbarred for even bringing it to trial.

No. IMO, Bringing charges was politically motivated. The prosecution, after the verdict, can say, well we tried.

Sad. Truly sad. This country has some serious issues.

He will probably not be found guilty. The only one that really knows what happened is him.

I don't know that he is guilty of murder but he certainly is guilty of being stupid. He was stupid to get out of his vehicle, stupid to have a gun while on neighborhood watch, ect. A better choice would have been a damn good spotting scope with a window mount. Could have watched the guy from blocks away without him being the wiser. I would guess that they should have went after involuntary manslaughter instead of second degree murder.

He was stupid to have a gun while on neighborhood watch; no guns, it is one of their rules and he agreed to it. If you don't like the rules play in your own sandbox. Me, I would play in my own sandbox. You are correct in stating he was stupid to approach someone he suspected of being a criminal.

We certainly are not getting an accurate picture from the press. It is like the Duke LaCrosse team, where the press convicted them without a trial.

I've been following the case.

In my personal opinion, Zimmerman is kind of an asshole. Being an asshole however is not illegal.

Noticing a suspicious person and calling the cops might have been the only thing he did correctly.

Having a gun might have been against neighborhood watch rules, but not illegal. He was still perfectly within his rights to have it.

Getting out of his truck was ill-advised, but not illegal.


I have my doubts about whether he is guilty or innocent. It's because of these doubts that I don't think he should be convicted.

Looks like the judge is considering whether she will allow the jury to consider lesser charges in their deliberations. I hope she doesn't. If Zimmerman is found guilty, the message it sends is totally bass-ackward.

I think the judge is biased. Just a feeling I have.

I'll preface this by stating that I am not following the trial. But from what little I do understand, Mr. Zimmerman seems to be the aggressor in this instance.

That being said, I don't see how the "stand your ground" law can be applied to him and not to the dead kid also.

MP, the " stand your ground " law is not at play in the trial. It was the inaccurate press reporting that tried to paint that as an issue.
