Belle de Jour was my Lover .... Article about Outing and Consequences

An interesting article.

I do believe the guy was just a little upset because she dumped him for another man, and now tries to play on personal insecurities and victimization . That is at least my opinion. It is interesting to see the outing game played in kind of detriment for a guy here. Usually it`s men or clients or boyfriends who out escorts and make problems for them.

But I do believe it is possible for people to disguise habits or even working as escorts during relationships. So , it could be possible he did not know, but I doubt it. Outing was before 2009 (I guess) and they only split up way later... There must have been a reason for that, as well.

What is your opinion?

But I do believe the guy has a point as in not wanting to be outed in blogs, or his privacy exploited for financial reasons. At least she should have paid him and asked him

One thing why I believe she worked as escort is, because the way she described the business is so accurate, that it is hard to believe she only had second hand knowledge.
I do believe that some stories are fake, of course, but the surroundings and everything is just too true...
Hmm....

Nina, thank you for the link. I love this show and the books.

I also believe she was a prostitute. I don't understand why someone would out themselves as a prostitute if they weren't. It isn't too difficult to lead a double life, most of us have been doing it for years. Did she fabricate the truth to make money? It is possible she did.
Nina, wow I'm so astonished that you changed your surname to Brooke - so American, and Sastri was so unique/unusual. OK I'll look at the link now...
He he, I read most of that link, and my first thought was -
Is that why you changed your surname to Brooke (to Nina)?

After that - well, this tale would make a good TV movie.

After that - it would make a very good French movie.
Why French? Many years ago I saw a movie about two lovers - in French - who were also both prostitutes. It was a very fascinating movie. Can anyone recall the movie and place it?
