Is LE REALLY that bad in Austin?

It seems like I get an awful lot of sketchy calls in Austin. More so then when I visited SA. By sketchy, I mean people calling with the EXACT same questions, same order & phrasing. "Where are you located" ... "No but which hotel" "what's your price for a half hour?" ( insert check showcase line ) Repeats "ok so xxx DOLLARS (with emphasis)" "let me hit up the ATM & I'll call you in a bit." This SAME conversation has taken place at least 5 times, from different numbers, & from what I believe to be middle aged white males.

Am I paranoid?! Or is this just the norm for Austin? I'm from CA where they know your rates & for the MOST PART proper phone etiquette. It's just a bit alarming, since I sort of figured guys like to play it safe.

I wasn't sure if this would go here or in another forum since its more of a question then an alert.

highly doubt its LE, Travis County LE have better things to do rather than call Providers, its more than likely just some morons wasting your time,

that could be considered entrapment if they call and solicit you. you law guys know more but you usually do not see LE calling you, they are more likely to set up an incall sting and post ads accordingly
For one sweets I always tell them that if they have questions and I have never seen them to put what they want to know in pm. I dont hold convos over the phone unless its a reg. If you answer and they have questions then tell them to pls look on showcase and in pm let you know what there looking for and how long and tell them to be sure to look at your donations before hand. Thats the best advice, lots of guys do it here, usually its the younger newbie guys

Even if they DO "cross the line," entrapment is a really tough thing case to make, and can be expensive, inconvenient, and embarrassing to use, even if they win in the end.

Read up on what entrapment really is, use it to your advantage, but remember that cops will lie, they will cross the line, judges will let them get away with it, and they can cause you a lot of grief, even if you "win" in the end.

I'd rather hold a phone conversation vs. internet/text. If LE WAS involved, it takes more energy to record my conversation rather that ask in plain text everything they'd like to know & print it out.

Even though I do not discuss rates or services, I have no problem holding phone conversations. It lets men know I'm a real girl & get to know my personality. I like to hear who I'm interacting with. Plus my voice is pretty unique & if they were on the fence about visiting, my uplifting giggle usually seals the deal

I have heard about reverse stings as well, & I'm obviously not so big headed that I think I'm big fish lol they don't care about me! But in the same breath, I know of a few girls that came to Tx & ended up leaving with a record lol that's the only reason I took notice.

Well, I think I'm content. I guess there's just a bunch of college guys sitting around fantasizing about biggole breasts lol. I will always be cautious, but I guess I need to cool it with the paranoia. Thank you everyone for your input. Definitely appreciated. I guess I needed fresh eyes on the situation.

Allison just screen screen screen, make sure you get either a p411 request or good reference. Make sure you get a handle confirmation from anyone claiming to be an eccie member. I haven't heard anything lately about LE but there has been some not so nice guys using some of the well known members handles to rip off some girls. Just got with your gut if something doesn't feel right, just don't do it. To many nice guys around that love to see new girls to the area. Good luck!
A healthy dose of paranoia is good! Keeps us on our toes. I swear back in April myself and some other ladies were contacted by suspicious people. They were suspicious, to me, in that they would pm asking for gfe for x amount and it was always outcall. Most guys know not to discuss $$ for anything other than time. I was on a newbie friendly list back then though, so it's hard to tell. My gut says it was Leo, but I dont know. Usually some girls get contacted in April and October/November around election time.

There was also an article a while back about a really bad trafficker Leo was after and an ongoing under cover investigation, in April. There is also the Rundberg clean up thing going on they got funding for, but I dont know if that makes any difference to non sw's?

One would think they have better things to do than waste tax dollars on a misdeameanor. Seems spa's have to worry about LE more than an Indy, unless the indy is doing something else besides slangin' poon! But I could be wrong??

Alison, are you located in Travis County or Williamson County?
If you are not sure refer to this link
http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=654993

If you are in Travis County you have less to fear from LE.
If you are in Williamson County you have more to fear from LE. They might be more inclined to pursue providers via phone calls etc. If you are in Williamson county (that is known for being very strict and prosecuting any criminal activity vigorously) you should really consider relocating to Travis County.

Other than that you should screen very carefully, check references, read the reviews they have written, have them send pm's via P411 or Eccie.

Best of luck to you.
Thank you ladies for the advice! I do screen & p411, so hopefully that will continue keeping me safe! I'm always glad to see ladies working together! U guys are awesome!
I am in Travis county I believe. I usually do all kinds of research, even on their references. Google is my best pal. Lol. I was asking sort of like about the activity of Austin LE sort of like in general? The calls I got started to raise a flag, & I was just curious so here I am! Lol. Thank you for the map! I know what area NOT to stay on my next visit!
Providers underestimate the extent to which location plays into decision as to whether (or not) and when to visit, so location seems legit question. If the hobbyist requesting this has not yet been fully screened, seems best to just say which ZIP code the property is located, and whether its a hotel or private apt, since that too plays into decision.

If Bob Hobby has several provider OK's on p411 and has reviews here with reputable providers, seems legit to tell him up front where you are.

Except in the context of large, organized group that brought migrants for sex work, Trees has not hear of one credible confirmed report of a set-up by LE. Obviously you "never know" and its smart screen, be careful, be vigilant. Note that cops would want you to offer specific services (defined in the statute) so as to get you to make incriminating declaration. If they ask how much for "time only" you can almost guarantee that its not a cop.

Too much vigilance and secrecy as to location (area) makes many hobbyists stay home. Or see another provider they think will be easier to actually find.

Obviously, Trees not suggesting giving full address with room numbers willy nilly. No. Use care. But suspicion that every other Bob Hobby is a cop seems overdone.

LovelyAllison, I know I am bit tardy to this thread (been way busy this week with events in San Antonio and parts north of Austin) but I think

might have something to do with the perceived issue and how some jerks thought you might be a vulnerable target.

I hope you had a good tour into Texas and next time you head toward Central and South Texas give me a shout when you start planning your tour and I'll clue you in on how to meet some well-vouched hobbyists and fun-loving companions.
