It's a shame but I certainly understand the decision. We used to spend the day on the boat at H-H and then head over to Carlos & Charlies late in the afternoon. Hadn't been able to do that in years. Not even sure if there is a single restaurant left on the lake.

I found out too late..sorry I missed it I had only been there two or 3 times but they were fun times
I heard that the Boiling Pot down on 6th is also closing their doors. It's sad to see so many Austin institutions going by the wayside.
Dang, too bad about the Boiling Pot, but I'm sure their rent has skyrocketed too much for a small, niche restaurant. Hope they re-surface somewhere else soon.

In good news, though, the long-delayed re-opening of the former Trophy's on S. Congress is mostly underway. In better news, there will be regular, live music, not the "occasional" live acts that were originally planned. That's because the restaurant idea is dead, as it would have cost far too much to bring the place up to restaurant code. There will be three bars: main room, back patio, and upstairs.
