Things to do in lubbock or el paso?

Hey yall!

its about that time i come back to wtx and needed a little guidance... last time i came to town it was hard for me to find anything to do as ive never been in the area before.

i found the el paso zoo.. which i will try again (last time i went was too hot and all the animals were inside) and then attempted to find somewhere to ride horses. Which later i realized was near impossible because everyone in texas has their own lol.

I went to the mall.. and that was about all i got to see! so this time i wanted to ask for suggestions.. i like to do lots of things.. fishing.. anything outside... or anything that draws tourists that i may not know about!

thanks in advance!

... oh... p.s.: i did not attempt to find anything in lubbock because my stay was short so suggestions from there would be awesome!

xoxo Dakota

Hey there,

When are you thinking of arriving in El Paso?

For el paso here the most common thing to do is go out and party. Although I do know a craft beer fest is coming up and so is fashion week but I'm not to sure on the dates

Lubbock:
Blue Mesa Grill Happy Hour is Good. Genghis Grill is good since you make your own bowl. Rosa's Cafe is good, and I like the fresh tortillas that I put on honey on.
Planet Fitness since they have the massage chairs and Hydromassage bed to use after working out.
There is also the Wyler Aerial Tramway at Franklin Mountains State Park...the address there is 1700 McKinley El Paso, TX 79930...if you like fishing there's always Ascarate Lake over on delta street (not the nicest lake, but its relaxing even to walk/jog around)....movies at the canyon are also fun up in McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater (http://www.visitelpaso.com/summer_events/15-movies-in-the-canyon or here is a listing of the things to do for september (http://visitelpaso.com/events/community). Hmmm phew for all that work i believe i deserve a discount :P Good luck and enjoy your stay....
Oktoberfest, hosted by the German Air Force. It's in Alamo which is 90 min NW of El Paso, but if you're coming from Lubbock it's only a 30 minute detour.

The GAF used to be in El Paso but they've since moved to Alamo. This is Oktoberfest with real German food, real German beer, and real German Germans.

Hi...

I agree with some of the recommendations of the gents. El Paso isn't a mecca for too much sightseeing. However, if you do come to town....and want to ride, I own my own stables which a couple of providers have visited.
