REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.
REMINDER..... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked.
You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

One thing to consider.

ANY toll free number you call gets your information. The owners of that number are paying for that added feature in a very detailed log. You cannot block it.

Once your info is collected, yes, it can then be sold to telemarketing number collectors for resale.
Thanks

Lazurus speaks the truth for sure. Just last month, I reviewed the call logs for an 877 number that belongs to me. Every number that dialed in and the length of time that number was connected was logged for my prying eyes to see.
Actually things like this that ask you pass it on, quite often are for collecting email addresses. They just use some hot button topic and end it with "pass it on to your friends". We all have friends who never heard of bcc and there goes our closely guarded email address.

If you register your number on the do not call list, there are restrictions on who can call you. Generally, random telemarketers are prohibited. There are many exceptions (charities, etc). Learn more here: https://www.donotcall.gov/

I've had all of my numbers registered from the beginning. I report all violations - more to make me feel good than get any real results.

If the Fed wants to increase revenue without additional taxation (oops, that's the other party - this one loves taxes), they could start by enforcing and fining violators.
