9/11

I still remember that day. How about you?
Oh me too. Very sad day.
Remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. Saw the second plane hit live. Now, I take the day and do something special to celebrate freedom.
I noticed today that I still have a 911 Flag decal on my windshield.

It will always be a day I remember. Being from NY and having a brother in the NYPD it was a long day for me. I was relieved when I found out my brother was off that day. By the time he was called in, the towers had come down. He is now suffering the effects from the air he had to breath but he is still with us.

I remember where I was, what I was doing, saw the second plane hit. Two days later I was activated in the military. I stayed active for two years, was released from my orders, 30 days later I was called back up. That is all I can say.
You guys might give me a lot of shit, but if it came down to saving your life I would not hesitate. I don’t know you nor do I care, but I will do everything as I was trained.
One day on I-70 while driving north, I saw the accident happen right in front of me. I jumped out of my car ran over to see who I could help. I could tell right off one guy was dying. So I didn’t waste my time with him, ran over to the other car. There were three people in it, one was dead, I had to get to the person in the back seat, so I had to pull the body out of the way. I was the first on scene. As the police showed, I told them what happened. We all worked as a team. Two lived. This happened over 5 years ago.
I can picture the whole thing to this day. I remember every rescue that I have been involved in.
By the way this was a head on accident… I have seen worst, did what had to be done. Save a Life.

It will always be remembered!

Yankee - Thanks for your brother's service in the NYPD.

Copter - Thank you for your military service and your continued work as a first responder.

On Sept 11, 2001, I was proud to say that I was the father of a Naval Academy midshipman. Proud today to say that I am the father of a very well-trained, experienced Navy pilot.

Hope everyone continues to stay safe.
Yep still remember where I was and what I was doing to this day. My ship had just got back off Westpac a couple days before and we were on stand down. I was passed out at the barracks after a long night of drinking when I was woke up by one of the boot camps that just joined the ship telling me to wake up and look at the TV. Saw the planes hitting the towers and told the boot to put coffee on. He asked why and I told him because we need to sober up because we are going to war. After getting coffee in me I was heading back to the ship when it dawned on me where I was. Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Talk about pucker factor going up, needless to say I stopped walking and started jogging. Once I got back to the boat it was a blur since one day ran into the next for about 2 months after that.

How can I forget, it's been the go-to for 12 years of warmongering, increasing governmental intrusion, erosion of liberty, and the waste of money we don't have.
I will never ever forget that day or the friends lost there. However, I remember even more the heroic efforts of those passengers on Flight 93.

You're in the minority of those who figured it out. The rest are only now starting.
