low test

Ok so I have found out that my test is low. I want to use injections but my dr is not so hot on anything at all. I have 2 insurances so no prob there. Anyone have any advice on a dr that will proscribe that?

You may want to try Clomid first. But if you have ED, shots may do the trick.
Best of luck.

I'm not YOUR doctor, but I would recommend that you avoid monthly injections. Basically when you do that, you have 2 good weeks, and 2 shit weeks. It really kind of sucks going up and down like that.

I would advise you to look towards daily gel that you can apply yourself, or find a compounding pharmacy that will make you some dosed aftershave or a cream of some sort that you can apply yourself daily. You will find that the hand-made stuff is actually cheaper than the name-brand stuff like Testim. Even better, your levels will stay constant and not swing up and down as much.

This of course is after you have had your morning testosterone checked, and it is low, and after you have had a PSA to clear you of prostate cancer. DO NOT go on any testosterone replacement without having the PSA, regardless of what your doctor tells you.
Shots are not that bad and a lot cheaper. Any Uroligist or general practioner

This guy is well versed and will work with your local dr to get you on a plan that works.

Workouts have gotten better too. Lifting more than I did when I was younger.
I do get moody as I get close to shot time. Good luck.

I recommend the injections but it helps if you find someone who is experienced in giving shots. Other advice is, if you find a doctor who will prescribe the injections, make sure they give you drawing needles so you don't use the same needle for drawing out the medication AND injecting yourself. The needle gets dull if you use the same needle and it is more painful.

See the October 2013 edition of Ironman on shelves now. It has Rachel McLish on the cover. It has several in depth articles on this, one of which is a body builder M.D. He addresses the two opposing points of view above and speaks to managing it. In terms of injections diabetic syringes are an option I think he talks about, too, for self injectors.

There are also several anti-aging clinics that specialize in this stuff around the country. One has clinics in Las Vegas and Tulsa, whose founders and clinic were featured on 60 Minutes, but they are a total medical approach to aging and this type if thing. They are also pricey. Don't recall the name but they advertise a lot--one place being in Southwest Air's magazine if you're a traveler.
Sometimes you gotta man up. lol

In my experience as a former health care professional some men do really well with the transdermal method with compounded gels as above recommended so I would try that first to see if it works for you. It has the least potential for severe side effects. If that doesn't do it for you then try injections. Men have really had great results with improvement in their ability to gain increase in energy and virility. Not to mention the amazing improvement in their sexual interests
