Concerts

What concerts do you want to see? Who would you pay the most to see? Who is your favorite singer?

Tom Petty is one of my favorites and I would love to see him in concert.

I just got tickets to Elton John and Cher. Can't wait to go see them.

I don't do concerts any more. Too expensive. I enjoy providers better.
Elton John is very good though seen him a long time ago.
My son gives me shit for liking him.
I saw Elton John a couple years ago. It was a great show. I would love to see U2 again, and Snow Patrol and FUN. are on my list. Great topic.

I went to see Bruce Springsteen last year. Still very good, but not as good as 2008.

I'm a big Neil Young fan, and I went to see him a couple of years ago.

Damn, he's old. Damn, I'm old.

Even though the music was good, I was depressed for a month, afterwards. Even though I was married, I hadn't had sex for several years.

And now, my teen idol looked like my grampa.

After a month of really feeling sorry for myself, I went out and saw my first provider.

So, now, Neil Young is my hero for a different reason.

"Cowgirl In The Sand"

Hello cowgirl in the sand
Is this place
at your command
Can I stay here
for a while
Can I see your
sweet sweet smile
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same?
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

Hello ruby in the dust
Has your band
begun to rust
After all
the sin we've had
I was hopin' that
we'd turn bad
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

Hello woman of my dreams
This is not
the way it seems
Purple words
on a grey background
To be a woman
and to be turned down
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

I still have many bands thaI haven't seen.

Many are classic rock or metal bands. Black Sabbath, Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, and Tom Petty. One other band I would really like to see would be the Scorpions. I have seen many others, some of them multiple times. There are more that I haven'seen that I haven't mentioned either.

Some of the best shows I've seen have been Elton John - Alone, with his band and the Face to Face tour with Billy Joel, Rush, Roger Waters "Wall" show, AC/DC, Triumph, Motley Crue, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Of course TSO is a mix of tradiitional Christmas music with a hard rock twist. They put on a great show though with fire, laser lights and extended suspended stages.
I have seen a lot of concerts. Artists ranging from David Bowie to John Lee Hooker and Neil Young to Black Flag.

I don't think there is a specific band I have not seen that I would still like to see, but wish I could see some bands from specific time periods. For example, Iggy & The Stooges from 40 years ago, Pink Floyd w/ Syd Barrett, the original Yardbirds line up, MC5, Captain Beefheart from the Trout Mask Replica days...I could go on, but...

Anyone have a time machine?
Best ever were Yes, ELO, and BS&T...Heard them all many times. May never do another concert...

I'm a jazz fanatic. I've seen Pat Metheny three times (Birmingham AL in '89, KC in 2005, and in Omaha a few years ago.)

I missed Neil Young when he was here. He may be getting old, but he's always doing something original and interesting. Not just being your typical golden-oldie fart artist (See Aerosmith, even the Stones).

I saw the Stones in '78 and '81, and thought they were old back then.

Karin Allyson was in Omaha a couple of times in the near past. A local gal with Grammy's and a terrific voice. Her jazz renditions are amazing!

My favorite concerts were Pink Floyd, ZZ Top & The Eagles. Drank a beer with Joe Walsh and have guitar picks from Eagles and ZZ Top.
Saw Big Bad VooDoo Daddy in Omaha few days ago. Can't bet a horn band. Those guys can make so music.

Any parrotheads out there? Jimmy Buffett puts on a hell of a show, but the best part is the tailgating. Alpine Valley Wisconsin is an amazing venue. Boobs and shots everywhere! I didn't want to leave!
