Favorite Movies

I don't know if anyone has ever done this thread or not, but I didn't see it. What are some of your favorite movies of all time? Why?

For me, it's a tossup between the two greatest gangsta movies of all time... Tony Montana had ball, because that's all you have in life is your balls and your word, in case you didn't know... but in The Godfather Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino were both quiet, thoughtful men that would kill your ass if you fucked around the wrong way.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High was in my fav5 growing up.. Mr. Hand was a dick!

For me it's a toss up between Pulp Fiction and Tombstone... Samuel L. Jackson is the shit and Val Kilmer just kills me in Tombstone... I'll turn the sound off and go word for word with him...

The car accident changed him. I haven't read "Under the Dome" so I can't comment on it or any of his recent works or his politics. I read everything he wrote up to "Bag of Bones" including the original four or five of the "Dark Tower" series and of course "The Green Mile". I must have been about 14 when I read "Salem's Lot". It scared the hell out of me. I could go on about his early works but this is about movies. Originally Posted by boardman

The movie "Ray" starring Jamie Foxx has got to be one of the most amazing productions of all time. If you study the special features and interviews with the cast on the disc #2, the efforts made to effect realism and accuracy, plus the results of sheer luck, mainly in casting Foxx (an accomplished pianist and vocalist ) in the lead role, fell together in amazing harmony to create an image of the man that was lifelike even to family members and long time associates.
Also, Ray Charles' own contribution to the story, insisting on not hiding the dark side of himself from the public, most of whom by this point in time would have never known the difference, really says something about the character of the man and his true genious and greatness.
In my opinion.
